California SB18 Conversation
So, this law is the California Children's Bill of Rights. I have mentioned it here once before and I'm sure it will be signed. Yesterday I had a conversation with an aide at my Assembly member's office. I volunteered nothing at first and what came out of this guy's mouth had me literally shaking after the conversation. He said the government should play a role in the raising of children for the betterment of society. He called this a "mommy law". I had him repeat that a few times to make sure I was hearing correctly. At the Capitol they are calling these laws "mommy laws" as they are intended to play the role of real parenting. He volunteered that the author drafted the law in order to make sure that every child gets forced vaccination, including those who escaped his last law (those with medical issues and homeschoolers). I know that many fixate on the vaccination facet, but in my opinion this is much bigger than that.
I let him go on for a while. Then, I informed him that I was asked by a few families I know to reach out to their office. I said, "It's important for (Assembly member's name) to know that this group of families will leave California if this bill passes." He literally gasped in shock when I said this. We are, though. I'm going to sell my business, I've decided.

Which makes most unable to resist in that way.
If you don't have the slightest clue who is there then tell me how you could possibly enforce such ridiculous laws. Your idiots just like mine here in NY are all trying to make themselves appear intelligent and failing miserably.
I am curious about where people chose to go because it informs me of a potential choice as well.
Even in CA, the center is 'red' - not enough to offset the coastal population centers but still a lot of silent people who have been bullied into thinking that they are hicks and therefor not worthy of having opinions. One of the things I am looking for is for this element of the population to 'start talking'. It is possible that a collateral benefit of Trump's upcoming presidency will be that, even in Calif, the 'cool liberal kids' will now find people disagreeing with them. I am hoping that this might bring about a change in the political atmosphere.
If Trump can protect all of the US from the EPA and Obamacare, and enforce the 2nd amendment, that will give all states a bit of a breather.
