How Trump Should Handle the "Caravan"

OK, this is tongue-in-cheek so don't get upset. But, I was discussing this with a colleague yesterday. We're both Californians looking to get out as this place slides into disaster. I joked that Trump, rather than grant the media some sort of photo of oppressed babies at the border, should protect only the non-California border. He could grant full and peaceful passage straight into the State who really wants these people - California. He can even get a big federal contract with Greyhound to bus these folks to their California city of choice (from a select list). As we welcome them into our collectivist heaven each family can be lovingly handed a menu of cities to select from. It could include San Francisco (what a beautiful city!), Beverly Hills, Malibu, Sunnyvale/Santa Clara, anyplace in Marin County. Of course, Trump might want to consider placing security along the California border. But...this would give everybody exactly what they want. Our leaders want these people. These nice folks would get free passage into a very beautiful place, focusing on the towns where they've gotten the most political support.

In a lot of countries, a caravan like this would be shot as they tried to run the border. I wouldnt want to storm the usa-canada border. I would get returned to the USA perios, and if I was in a caravan, they would round us all up with the police and force us back after perhaps being thrown in regular jail if we didnt leave willingly.
More seriously - and I may have said it here before - Article 1, Section 9, Clause 2 of the US Constitution says the Congress has authority to suspend Habeas Corpus to protect the people in the event of Rebellion or Invasion. This should be a first step.
And now for my tongue-in-cheek idea: Since Democrat activists have actively or passively encouraged attacks on Republicans at their homes, these invaders should be transported 100 at a time to the homes of the "no borders" activists and politicians, then told they can get free food and lodging simply by invading the property. First should be the multi-million dollar home of Maxine Waters, followed by the home of the Mayor of Stockton, CA and Governor Brown's home. I'm sure at least 10,000 invaders could be accommodated this way across the nation. Call it the Trump Induced Compassion (TIC) Campaign.
Another thought I had was send the illegals straight to the Yukon with only the basic of supplies (Parachute, knife, 1 small pack of matches). They can stay in the U.S. and become citizens if they can withstand and survive one of the harshest environments the U.S. has to offer, after 7 years.
Here's the reality of the situation: They aren't asylum seekers, they are rabble-rousers and invaders. They are being financed by leftists to cause a stir and are seeking to exploit our porous border and ridiculous immigration laws. Personally, I would rather treat them like the invading army they are and repel them at the border using force - lethal if necessary. If they are that brazen and willing to ignore our immigration laws now, how willing are they going to be to abide by the rest of our laws? Answer: they aren't interested. And neither should we be interested in tolerating their shenanigans. Let's put an end to this demonstratively.
If the military intercepts the refugees on mexican soil with some sort of agreement with the mexican government (hopefully), that might work. BUT, the mexican government is feeding and providing transportation to these immigrants to get to the USA, so its unlikely they would allow US troops to enter mexico at all.
Funneling them into California would work if they stayed there, and there was no call for federal money to take care of them. Leave it to California to do the heavy lifting. Not sure the immigrants can be kept in California however. They wold probably spread out across the country to escape detection.
All this has happened in the EU before, so leftists know they will win.
By the way, supposedly 3 more caravans are being prepared to follow this one. Something needs to be done or this will be a real problem with babies showing up at the border, pregnant wormen coming here to drop their babies and getting citizenship.
I like Trumps idea of catch and hold instead of catch and release. Put them in tent cities and make them work to maintain the cities and pay for food. See how many want to come here then.
It is good thinking but even that number may not be enough. There will be a continent sneaking through, no matter what the gov does. The only way to avoid the influx would be a human chain of military, covering every inch of the border.
BTW, Mexicans are apparently supplying this mass with food and water. They'll do everything except taking them in. I also read Mexico offered them housing and jobs but they flatly refused. The organizers sold them the idea of going to the US.
The chattering classes (the left) say all refugees should be admitted. After entry the refugees are entitled to all welfare benefits as available to citizens, or more.
Members of the caravan have been interviewed (cannot find the source at the moment). They want to enter the US to work, to earn money, to send to family to alleviate poverty.
Now I support the right of a nation to guard borders, and to decide on who enters, but consider your nation fortunate when would-be-migrants want to work!
Here is another tongue-in-cheek suggestion- Give them all a 2-year contract as laborers on wall building. A big bonus is put aside for those who stay the contract and is paid after departure.
He has done more in less than two years to IMPROVE this country than any president in my life all while being under constant attack. It is shameful that he is being blamed for this.
The military should already be on the southern border armed to the teeth.
If that had been done with Trump's existing authority there would be no caravan at all.
The states have no jurisdiction over border security so CA can go on wasting their time in court.
But Trump has not done that.
I think he has no intention of doing it either.
Trump's lots of talk and very little action.
