"I feel that my government has failed me as a taxpayer and as a federal employee. I feel that Congress should be totally abolished," she said. "I don't blame the president at all. But the entire legislative branch is just dysfunctional."
I think she just said she wants a dictator.
Anyway... let's take a yay or nay vote:
Do you think most gov workers understand what caused their sudden temporary unemployment?

Think of any of the big companies: Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, Raytheon, SRA Int'l & hundreds of smaller subcontractors are also out of work. This is what they aren't telling you. It will be both interesting and stressful to see how things will be in about 2 or 3 weeks if this BS carries on.
While personally, I'm kind of prepared and will be much better prepared very soon, no one can ever be "fully" prepared simply due to the uncertainty that's part of the Washington Establishment. Meanwhile, I'll keep enjoying my coffee & watching my company email for the "all clear" message & will eagerly get back into business threads & head off to work.
Got Project Management? =)
Oh the weather (political) outside is frightful, but inside (home) is so delightful....
Enjoy it as much as you can. :)
The idiots in congress will have it coming back to them, election year 2014...we who got impacted will not forget this. You know the saying about paybacks...
I have to laugh--the irony of only three hundred employees out of 16,000 at the Labor Dept are considered essential. Why should they be allowed to go back to work when this crisis is resolved? Cut those jobs!
