    I just stumbled onto this and I am in the middle of reading The Art of Power about Thomas Jefferson. I'll get it out and add a quote or two I've highlighted on my Kindle.

      So close to what my thoughts were, and that it is profound that these quotes ring so so true all these years later. There MUST be some like minded politicians who possess a way with words, but are they afraid to speak these kind of thoughts? The only media station I have heard echo some of this sentiment, is Fox News and some radio talk hosts. So where, can the greater population expect to hear these inspiring words?

          Agreed. I've been in a book club for several years and for the last 6 months or so I've managed to bring up the importance of individual rights during every book discussion. We mostly read fluff books so it's not always an easy feat. Our next book is Fancy Pants by Tina Faye (blaht) so I have a challenge coming. But yes, always speaking up, pointing out errors in our gov etc is up to those of us that will be vocal whenever possible.
