Fascism Upon Us

Recently I've noted the "surprise" at Obama both espousing more and bigger government social programs (the Democratic party platform and way) AND retrenching individual liberties (privacy invasion via digital online data collection), which began with Bush and is part of a conservative, Republican platform to deal with terrorism. It seems that what this really is, is the march toward fascism: more government control via "needed social programs," less individual liberty in the name of security. I wish someone in the press, the NY Times, the WS Journal, or the Washington Post, would read Leonard Peikoff's "The Ominous Parallels" and apply his reasoning and logic to Obama. Has any major media writer ever done that? I wonder. steve eggleston

They wouldn't dare... after all, they're there to promote the official line (because they know that, and not the 1st amendment, is what's allowing them to stay in business) , not to draw question to it.

Quickest way to be alienated to weddings or fired... But there are some brash reporters who knock heads with their editors/bosses. Over the years I've met a few... Wonder who's the most "Objectivist" writer out there in the mainstream press. Never been in a forum like this before, so I've never even bothered to ask. lol Any idea anybody? I'd love to support and follow whoever that is. I mean, though Howard Stern is no Objectivist roll model, he certainly proves you can buck the media establishment and win despite the unpopularity of your views and style.
