I don't know what his views are but Timothy Olyphant would be a good fit imo. Fits the part physically and he has played a few different characters. Like the show Justified he is in now.

Harrison Ford or Tom Selleck are two good older choices. Gary Sinise is fine. Thomas Kretschmann. Stefan Skarsgard. Eric Bana.

    No brainer! Who is...John Voight!
Should be flattered & do it on the cheap because the cause & message is righteous!

Benedict Cumberbach is a fantastic choice because he is the only actor with the intensity, gravitas and skill to play such a part.

I'm leaning toward Josh Brolin - Simon Baker, Jim Caviezel, Christian Bale and Daniel Day Lewis are also great suggestions

Michael Weatherly looks the part. Don't know his political persuasion. The actor has to be the same age as the characters Dagney and Francisco.

Hugo Wallace Weaving. He has aptly demonstrated a wonderful ability to deliver massive, intelligent dialogue with power, poise and precision (V for Vendetta, Cloud Atlas, etc.). That is, after all, what John Galt does the most of, isn't it? May need a make up artist to pretty him up a bit but my personal opinion is he would be a best option for the role.

Andy Garcia! He is intense, not a leftist in real life, he is the right age and he could do a great job!

Tony Goldwyn might be a perfect fit.
He is a seasoned actor and recognizable.
He is 53 years old and could really pull it off.

Daniel Craig would be awesome. He has the steely no-nonsense attitude, good looks and a good hold of characters like this. His father, was a merchant seaman turned steel erector so there is personal knowledge of metals manufacturing in his family past for character reference.

Michael Fassbender who played David in Prometheus. He has the look, features, and style to pull this roll off.
