I don't know what his views are but Timothy Olyphant would be a good fit imo. Fits the part physically and he has played a few different characters. Like the show Justified he is in now.

Needs to be (or capable of looking like) a true visionary. Broad, comprehensive, can take it all in...not too dreadfully serious, as then he'd be too stilted, robotic. JG is Not robotic- he gets it, totally. !st pick: Hugh Jackman, won't find any better imo, or Colin Firth, also amazing actor. Pierce Brosnan. If must be younger then Zach Quinto, Benedict Cumberbatch. Personally think all the actors seem too young, need some experience under belt, enough to lend wry humor when needed. Good luck on this. It's important to attain lasting credibility. AR would have insisted on it....

Jim Caviezel. But whoever it is should fit the John Gult in his values displayed in Atlas Shrugged. This is not just a movie it is should move the movie goer that this is the world as it should be. Passion of the Christ and Braveheart are such movies. This is what I want to see and hear in Atlas Shrugged. Call to action.

Harrison Ford would be good. Not necessarily for his politics but that rugged seasoned character he so often plays. Rand Paul could also be worth looking at as well.
