Maybe the men need more cooling because they're working harder!
Remember...that was a chauvinist's view...not necessarily my own .
the locals got out their sweaters and jackets. . we who were
working on the flightline just breathed a sigh of relief in our fatigues!!! -- j
.
because of my wife. . she likes the 60s and I like the 70s.
so, after 18 years together, I am fine with the cooler house.
if I want warmth, I add clothing, sit next to the woodstove,
or cuddle!!! -- j
.
Whichever, you're my kinda guy.
You can only take off so many clothes. If wimpy feminists need it warmer, get a god damn sweater. It is very clear in my mind that setting the office at 75, leave me no PC option; and therefore, THAT is discrimination!
When I get old (er), I sure hope I switch to liking it hot. SOOOOO much easier than liking it cold! Especially in central Europe or Asia, where they think 80 is great.
Where I live black and white people will hold a door open for me and vice versa.
Just had a memory jogged. Must have been 1973 when I held a door open for a black girl at Troy State.
One of three white girls exclaimed, "Did you see him open that door for that (n-word)!"
I also recall making a point of grinning at them.
I was fresh out of the Marines and pretty well weaned off the Alabama segregationist viewpoints of the 60s.
Only once have I ever had a satisfying encounter with a feminist and that was back in the late 70s. I was entering an office building in downtown Baton Rouge. Heavy plate glass doors, so being a properly raised southerner, I held the door for the woman coming in behind me. She stopped dead in the doorway and proceeded to berate me for holding the door. Apparently my exercising politeness was offensive and told her she could not open a door herself. She then said she never wanted a man to hold a door for her.
I said "suit yourself" and let the door go. She was promptly knocked down by it. It had the wonderful affect of shutting her up. That was my only satisfying encounter with a feminist.
I wonder if she ever figured out that being offended when someone holds a door that outweighs you is an exercise in stupidity.
If you can spare the time from reading a book and other educational pursuits.
I live in Alabama where there ain't to much of that lib stuff.
I could go hang out with UAB (University of Alabama at Birmingham) students on the Southside but at age 68 I don't really want to check out what the co-eds are up to.
Bet "co-eds" ain't politically correct no more.
I sure ain't gonna go back to college to look for fruitcakes in the faculty.
Hey, I be writing like a redneck,
Or me am just in my dino mode.

When I worked graveyard in a hospital lab, I would wear long sleeves, a labcoat, and a sweater on my shoulders to keep warm enough. But the reagents, analyzers and bench tests were at a fine temp for them!

I usually test my frosticles off in the office. Sorry, but 68, or 70 degrees is too cold. 72-74 I can do. I keep my house at 78 in the summer.
What can a man do if he's too hot? Nothing but sweat.
So, since he couldn't cool himself down but I could add more clothing to warm myself...Surprise! That's what I did...just as I did at work.
Wouldn't it actually be sexist if I insisted that the opposite sex raise the temp when they have no means of cooling down?
Can't wait until these women hit 50 or so. Love to know what they think about heat in the winter and air conditioning in the summer then.
Also...if they think it's cold in an office setting...good thing they don't work in a hospital, especially the graveyard shift or OR.
The things people think of to complain about amaze me.
