    There is the Robin Hood of legend. The Sheriff and Nobles had been taxing the peasants into the ground. Essentially, it was a case of the non-productive stealing from the productive. Robin Hood took their money back and returned it to them. The real Robin Hood was Ragnar. The Hollywood version of Robin Hood Stole from the Rich to give to the poor, leaving out how the wealth came into existence in the first place, and making him into a joke.

      the BBC TV series Robin Hood from I think 2004(?) is the correct version. It's fun. I think 3 or 4 seasons. I also thought the recent movie version stayed true to that theme

    the real story of Robin Hood is that he "stole" from the tax collectors to give the money and assets back to the people
    not the obomination of the story kids learn in school
