"Senate Democrats pulled DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas's ass out of the fire on Wednesday, voting to dismiss two articles of impeachment and shutting down the possibility of a lengthy Senate trial which would shine a spotlight on the border crisis he helped to create.
Wednesday's decision marked the first time in 225 years since the Senate voted to immediately dismiss impeachment charges approved by the House vs. holding a floor trial or referring the matter to a special counsel for review."
    ...
If Sec. Mayorkas will not be held accountable for refusing to follow federal law, why should ANY American be accountable for refusing to follow federal law?

The Senate sets a double standard for Americans.

Do believe we all already knew that looks as wormy as he is "The border is secure" lying little traitor was going to skate when the articles of impeachment reached the snakes in the Senate.
That snake pit is beyond disgusting. They not only have blood on their hands. They could swim in it with more blood to bleed out.
Fully expecting a terrorist attack by illegal aliens all scum and villainy in Congress (and all the White House personnel and appointees) still allow to cross the border.

I am not surprised in the least that this Neo Communist (D) got let off the hook by the same ilk in the Senate in spite of how quickly it was done. It's also additional proof that the politically connected can always get a nice title on the office door and a fat government paycheck without actually having to do something to earn it. Atlas Shrugged isn't a warning to these people, it's a guide book.

I like draw and quarter better. Keelhaul would work too.

The punishment should be a lasting pubic exhibition, to potential traitors, of what all traitors will receive for their actions.
Keel hauling can't do that, but drawing and quartering could work, although I still favor impalement on the national mall
as more budget conscious and a longer lasting example.

At what point do you call something broken?
A car that always breaks down?
      An unfaithful spouse?
      Typical Chinese products?
      A seditious and traitorous Government?

When you/me/we are constantly getting f*cked, day-after-day, there comes a point where we have to say enough is enough.
Our present government (you know the people who work for us) is a malignant cancer on the Republic. It has to be cut out, or the country dies a horrible, agonizing death.

When things gets this bad, when anything gets this bad, it never gets better on it's own.
      Ever.

It was broken in 1860, imo, by the war criminal, mass murderer tyrant Lincoln and the
fledgling deep state that funded his election to extract unearned wealth from the agrarian
south for the corrupt uncompetitive manufacturers in the north.
To them, that was worth a war and the loss of freedom for all the States and the People.

Why do you call Lincoln a mass murderer? I think the Confederacy did wrong by trying to set up a nation where slavery would be sure to be allowed. Do I say Lincoln was perfect? Not by a long shot. But I know that slavery existed before that war; afterwards, it was abolished.

            No war was needed.
Lincoln insisted because an independent south would have avoided his 150% increase in tariffs
designed to steal from southerners and pay off Lincoln's backers - manufacturers in the north
who couldn't compete with European manufacturers.
Lincoln had to have a war to pay off the corrupt people who supported him for president.
Thanks to Lincoln, the mass murderer, 400,000 men died and many more innocent civilians died as a result.
Slavery was a non-issue to Lincoln. He was in favor of funding deportation of all black slaves
per contemporary reports, speeches, and letters.

Slavery was becoming a dead issue by 1861. Even James Longstreet said slavery in the US would have been eradicated long before the turn of the century (1900) and no war was needed to do it. I can find NO examples of battalions or companies of Union soldiers using the battle cry "Free The Slaves", but "Preserve The Union" by putting down "traitors" was the cry and motive for beginning the war. "Free the slaves" was a later development (1863) to paint the face of war and killing with a more moral brush - a paint job we are spoon fed to this day.

    Dear lefty senators:

I suggest you find a copy of your OATH OF OFFICE and track down the EXACT PHRASE that excuses you from AIDING AND ABETTING ARMED INVADERS AND INSURRECTIONISTS and 'allows you' to walk freely and WITHOUT ACCOUNTABILITY!

YOU PERSONALLY, with MALICIOUS FORETHOUGHT AND DISREGARD FOR AMERICAN CITIZENS SAFETY AND LIVES PROVIDED COMFORT AND PROTECTION to both mayorkas and biden.

Getting rid of Mayorkas was DOA from the beginning. Getting rid of Biden and his entire admin is the only hope we have to keep this country safe and prosperous. Schumer is a wart on NY but he has plenty of others following him.

I have long thought impeaching Mayok-ass was a complete waste of time and political stunt. Whoever replaces Mayork-ass will be just as bad, because the source of the decisions is the Biden admin, and hopefully, there are just a few months to go.

Focus on the 2024 election. Malign Maork-ass, but don't waste calories on impeaching him. He is unlikable. The more pictures of him, with notes about his malicious incompetence, the more votes for Trump.

Separately, this vote provides clear evidence of bias.

I would gleefully watch any government democrats being impaled, this is just one more of hundreds of reasons.

Someone needs to convince the voting citizens of Schumer's District to Recall him. And the same for the other Representatives (both Houses) that are impeding and/or preventing the legitimate and lawful processes. The people are still in charge but just aren't smart enough to know it. Divided we all lose. Maybe we need to start a National Voters Union, or something to educate and get the people to get their heads out of the dirt.

"Someone needs to convince the voting citizens of Schumer's District to Recall him." Sounds good, but let's not forget he is a Soviet politician from a Soviet district. The majority of the people there are not interested in our Constitutional Republic and neither is he.

Patience children. All is not yet revealed. I share your frustration because in all my years (87) I have never observed anything like the mess we are being fed. It will backfire on the miscreants. nb

If I think about it, it was all created by Trump. He actually created nothing, but knew how to pull it out in the open from our corrupt government. If Trump hadn't decided to run, much of this would not be taking place. Trump thinks a lot like Ayn Rand. They can predict the future. I can hardly wait for Trump's book to come out. But it will still take a movie to convince many of those on the left. I just hope I'm still around to experience the rest of the story.

I there any sentient human being in the Western Hemisphere who thought this was going to end ANY other way? I am more shocked at everyone's surprise than I am at the actions of the Senate. Editing to add: yes, I know they were supposed to hold a trial and THEN acquit him. But honestly, why spend the time and money? The result is the same.

The fix was in for who? Yes, I know that Mayorkas was NEVER going to be found guilty, so what fix are you talking about? I'm a little scramble-brained at the moment because the IRS thinks I'm not who I say I am and the ID verification is HORRENDOUS!

    Frustration = (Expectation - Reality)*EGO

Your frustration is a function of your expectations.

I learned a long time ago, that my government doesn't serve me (accept on a silver platter to my enemies).

    They are self-serving, self-dealing inbreds.

After that, I cannot be frustrated.
    I expect nothing else.

They are not here for us.
They are required for the deep state to operate in the shadows. Lest we have to learn what's really happening...

My wife made an interesting comment the other day. We have been watching "Colony" and in one episode a "conspiracy theorist" is taken by the FBI and thrown in jail. When he crows that this only gives his platform more legitimacy, the agent drops a folder on his desk and says "And this is what we're going to charge you with: child pornography that turned up on your computer." When the man accuses them of planting the evidence, the agent just shrugs and walks out.

My wife reads some other blogs and apparently this is EXACTLY what happened to members of the Senate.
