Why is government stockpiling guns, ammo?

Word from my local FFL dealer said only foreign-made ammo will be available to consumers. However, customs is now delaying approval from 30-days to 6 months. Coincedence?

No. not the .223. Over-under's or sides usually refer to shotguns. But, a double-barreled rifle, in semiautomatic would be interesting to see.

I am also a 30-06 fan and a WSM (put in the round here) fan. Those cartridges are just great upgrades to earlier rounds. Especially the 7mm round. In many, if not most cases the hunting rounds that are out there have more killing power than the military rounds do. The military standardized in WWII basically and have not changed. I really kinda laugh every time they talk assault rifle because my .308 is out done by two of my hunting riffles in range, energy transfer and ballistic drop off rates. The main reason I have a .308 or a .223 is because those rounds will be found on nearly every person you kill in an apocalyptic event. Its also the only reason I recommend to friends that ask to get those two rounds.

As you can tell, I prefer the min-14. The newest, heavy barrel, tactical version to be exact. There a couple of things that new users should do to prolong the life of the action, (buffers at both ends), but otherwise, IMO, a great firearm to have. With the short 16 inch barrel, don't expect great groupings beyond 1.5 or 2 inch MOA at 100 yards. If anyone wants better than that, then fine, go AR with the 24inch barrel (accurized rifle) and you'll easily get the accuracy. Realistically though, most firefights will not be done, trying to nail someone 100+ yards out. Most of the time, it will be under 50. The mini won't have a problem. Regarding heavier bullets, I like the 30.06. It's just as lethal as the .308, and I agree, you would need something heavier should you encounter anyone jacked up on narcotics. .223 would just annoy them.

I like an AR, and a 308 (HK PTR91) and a pump action shotgun for self defense. I have to agree though that for recreational shooting a lever action, pump action, or single action revolver is just more fun to shoot.

The AR15 is a great self defense weapon, but you need a 308 of some time around as well (or equivalent heavier caliber) because your going to run into targets the .223 round just wont take down, or does not have the range for when the poop hits the blades.

Well said. That's why I hate it when people say 'We're a democracy'. I always get a look of confusion when I counter them with "Do you know how every democratic government ends?" "There's only few examples in history". The look confirms my suspicions that those who say such nonsense really don't know what they're talking about, and thus, SHOULDN'T be voting.

As we have "stepped down" the military in the wars we have "stepped up" private contractors. I do not know how many, any numbers I have seen have been pure speculation. The private contractors are being paid through and report only to the department of defense. Not the military.

If someone with some time on there hands wanted to look at what weapons these private contractors are using we may find evidence of a link.

Well had we not opened the vote up to everyone and still required people to be a share holder (own property) to vote that would not be the case. I would expand this today to holding stock equal to the typical home in an american based business.... basically a share holder in the US can vote.

The masses who have not accomplished even home ownership would not vote, but we did away with that, making voting a right rather than a privilege one earns and clear terms in which one would earn it. With that simple shift we ensured that we would indeed see this kind of government evolve.

Cicero told us it would happen but we ignored the experiences of the Greek city states and the Romans before us who moved things to popular vote, to a democracy rather than a republic and they eventually lost there freedoms, became dictator states and then fell because of democracy rather than republic thinking..

That does not include all the private contractors that report to the department of defense that are in Afghanistan and Iraq fighting in the wars we have pulled out of or are in the process of pulling out of.

The number of his private army is much larger, though I can only find speculative numbers, when these people are added in.

Poor grammar on my part. I mean that very sarcastically. Of course they let our guns get over the border. I mean that I believe we are foolish if we think that the only thing those armored vehicles are for is illegal immigrants that possibly are dangerous. That thing is an urban assault vehicle. Plain and simple.
