And the blame game goes on, I cannot imagine why anyone elected this guy for a second term.

I just read that, and thanks for the link! It was an interesting read. I've always had high visual-motor skills.

One of the strategies I taught my kids when they were little, and continue to do now, slightly modified for the application, was when we would read I-Spy books together, if they got stumped, I told them to turn the book upside down. Change your perspective. They loved it, and delighted in the fact that the new perspective allowed them to see things they didn't directly perceive the first time. It do it now by asking them to put themselves in different situations. Think first, use your brains and find a logical solution.

it's sad really. they need to come where I live and hug these one trees that are poisonous on contact and you have to get the antidote by hugging the male/female I don't which- anyway, when the liberals on tours hear this, they stop hugging tree-at least here. they still try to hug whales. big mistake. is amazing there are any of them left

What I mean is the earth has always had change in climate. We can't control that. I always thought of it as nature's way of self correcting. No conspiracy theories, no human population control my govt., although there have been dictators who insanely do so.

    Hello Non_mooching_artist,
One of my younger brothers is ambidextrous. I used to be jealous because my left hand seemed so clumsy. I would curse its nature. It seemed so unnatural to do anything with it. Now after decades of guitar playing I have trained my left hand to a degree that I find much more tolerable.
Have you made note of how many left handed presidents we have had. It is a number far in excess of statistical probability.
    Here is something interesting.

I am amazed at the liberal rants out there decrying humans. they'd rather hug a tree than a human being

what in the sam hill are you saying here???!
although world population has doubled within last 40 years, poverty has decreased.

if there weren't enough resources, you wouldn't see poverty levels decreasing. our most limiting resource is human beings being allowed to use their brains. when you read alarmist articles about population problems, look at their source. .org, .edu, .gov etc. there are always people who want more control. this is one alarmist tact they take

I totally agree, It's been to long since we've had reasonable discussion in our political party's. With that said, this is a form of war-fare, the average person responds to emotional arguments. So we need to use whatever we can to win this.

    Hello gblaze47,
It is too bad that people with fact based arguments must resort to the level of the ad hominem attacks of the opposition. That being said, it seems since so many of our fellow citizens haven’t developed beyond the playground level of dispute resolution, some of the same may need to be dished out just to get a proper argument in edgewise.

For all the vaunted intelligence the left has, they fail to understand that creativity and thus innovation comes about from different mindsets, not the same. When everyone thinks the same, they all come up with the same ideas.

Yes, “Group Think” is no doubt a significant part of the problem. Much of our present education and political systems are geared toward that end and the corollary the diminution of individualism.

Don't tell them about the population thing, they will be mowing us down with all the arms they'll be taking from the uninformed soon. I don't even mean that to be the least bit funny!!!

I do my best. The earth has been warming and cooling since it's existence. We aren't going to do much that will alter that. It's just what the earth does. I think it's just a population management response. We keep thwarting the efforts. The earth wasn't meant to sustain such huge populations.

I hope they're arguing these topics with their friends and maybe even aunts and uncles. you would NOT believe our dinner table, and we're all basically on the same side. there was that global warming digression by one faction of the family,...

I can't mooch like that, though. And you're absolutely correct about separating the herd. No one deserves anything they haven't earned, legally and morally. This is something I emphasize over and over to my kids. I hope it will guide them in their dealings with the world around them.

whoa. you could have asked for disability. :)
People hold this author in high esteem, partly based on this book, A Farewell to Alms http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregory_Cla...). I think it's a bunch of BS personally, but you can kinda go with it for awhile. and that is why I asked OA his thoughts on that. I believe it is a mix of cultural and legislative pushes telling one group of people they deserve something. Groups are key here. the more you can define a group, the more you can isolate, pit against, placate, elevate, push down, etc. it keeps a very small group in power while that infighting is going on. and people aren't productive while they're navigating how the system works to support or undermine their group.

Here is something I'd like to throw out there, just based on my own experiences. I am ambidextrous. It is actually quite beneficial when used in my capacity as an artist. Depending on the medium I'm using, and what I'm trying to achieve, I switch hands. I never was cognizant of it until it was pointed out by a professor in college. I was also of a more left leaning bent, then, though not an indoctrinated democrat. Never held with social systems designed to keep people impoverished in perpetuity.

But the more of the world I examined and experienced, the more it showed my rational and moral approach to life was diametrically opposed to what was spouted by the left. My mom was also a staunch democrat, but I think that came from her generation. She was a member of NOW. She worked on Capitol Hill for years, and that was what finally radically altered how she viewed both parties. She was in the court reporter/transcriber office on the Hill. When she died 10 1/2 years ago, she was quite the republican!

After that long winded explanation, maybe my ambidexterity allowed for my own views to be rational and thought out, rather that reactionary? I would love to explore this a bit more myself.

    Read "rules for Radicals"

Rule 4a) Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. Conservatives have a tendency to try to win every debate with logic and recitations of facts which, all too often, fail to get the job done because emotions and mockery are often just as effective as reason. The good news is that liberals almost never have logic on their side; so they're incapable of rationally making the case for their policies while conservatives can become considerably more effective debaters by simply adding some emotion-based arguments and sheer scorn to their discourse.

    Khalling,
I understand. People make choices in order to survive. Some produce and some ride in the wagon. Regarding the genetic component, I would not venture an opinion as I feel unqualified in this subject without further study more than to say that some of us are right handed and some of us are left. Humans naturally having unequal talents in various capacities are naturally going to have unequal cognition. It is irrational to expect equal outcomes. However education is a great equalizer to a significant degree for those without mental abnormalities, if education, as opposed to indoctrination is employed.
