Donald Trump refers to fictional Swedish incident as he blasts 'fake news'

Another good example of how Trump says what he means, but is so vague as to leave it wide open to media distortion. No doubt he is speaking to the fact Swededn opened it's doors to about 160,000 "refugees" and only 500 of them have been able to find work (since most probably do not speak swedish, not surprising) but there is a huge swell of media reports that Sweden is "politically covering up" the fact their rates of rape and violent crime have gone through the roof.

So he is not making it up, it is real, but because he does not lower himself to being so nats ass specific even a moronic media person can interpret it, it gets skewed and manipulated. This is the core of Fake news, take a fact, and twist it...

Now that I have to agree with. I am not a fanboy for Trump, it is just the least worse of the lot. I still wish we had a do over ability and we could lock out the parties....

I think that's a good summary of what I was trying to say.

I take issue with the point President Trump showing respect for the law. During a debate someone put a question to him saying, "that would be illegal. How would get people to do something illegal?" He said he was certain he could find a way. I see no respect for the law.

In the case of enforcing the immigration laws, I agree that's enforcing the laws that are on the books. I do not understand people's indignation about him enforcing the laws on the books. That's what the Executive Branch is supposed to do. This is a law, however, that President Trump agrees with and works for him politically. I am not confident he respects the law. A test would be him having to comply with laws he disagrees with or hurts him politically.

Well, CG, I am neither a "redneck" nor and "idiot", and while I did not buy into all of Trumps antics, we had 2 choices: 1. A known criminal who was trying to become the leader of an organization dedicated to lies, cheating and manipulation for their own agenda at the expense of the rest of the country, or 2. A totally unknown, maybe insane businessman who knows they system, and all the players, and has consistently survived in a consistently hazardous world. The system didn't offer any other chances. The couple players who might have been able to pull off an upset didn't come out to play. The other organization that seeks to ram it's own agenda down our throats, at the expense of everyone else, failed to produce even a passable candidate, because of their rigid "you owe who" system of approval of who could run. At least Trump (though possibly a loon) is at least paying some homage to the law, and trying to enforce the law as it is written, and not try to rewrite it for his own moral rules. It's not good, but no one got a voice in it. Best way to look at it was what Commander Schran said to Capt Archer of the Enterprise: "Lets drink to our mutual dissatisfaction".

"I never really heard what a "deplorable" was"
They're the redneck idiots of the world. The thing is some people extremely PC-sensitive, and they don't like you even to use the word redneck, so I go with deplorable. Whatever you call it, it's people who took President Trump's antics, bigotry, ignorance, and rejection of law during the campaign as something positive.

They have been raised in the ultimate culture of the Prime Directive: Noninterference. They were that way in 69 as well. Not new, just weird. But they are, as a whole, very nice, friendly people, and not well suited to what they had dumped on them, in a show of socialist "solidarity".

Go look at the article I posted in Culture about Remington, the guy who wrote it did a bang up job on why they are the way they are and what is going on, and does justice to explaining the whole concept of "Fake news". He even coined a new term for Snowflakes : "The new Walking Dead".

I don't know, since it was a HillaryBeast concoction that had no real meaning, other than "those not dumb enough to vote for me". As a characteristic, I never really heard what a "deplorable" was, other than a smarter voter than some.

"I would think that there are a few of us in The Gulch who consider ourselves Trump Deplorables. Most of us are intelligent and well-educated or we wouldn't be in The Gulch in the first place."
It sounds like you're saying the deplorables are a minority here, which is probably true.

Well, CircuitGuy, after reading your comment, I just had to dig out my "deplorable" t-shirt that I ordered from Rush for the campaign and put it on. BTW, I would think that there are a few of us in The Gulch who consider ourselves Trump Deplorables. Most of us are intelligent and well-educated or we wouldn't be in The Gulch in the first place.

Yep. He's really good at making them really lose it. I recently realized that I have several liberal friends that I really can't contact any more because they are so obsessed and upset they aren't capable of free thought. Being around them is really trying. It's like a psychosis. All they think about is Trump.

They are easy marks because they're never really been attacked like this. I heard them referred to as "dodo birds" and I think that's valid. My buddy who lives there would fit that description. What really, really bothers me is their willingness to stand by when girls are being harmed. I couldn't do it. I'd wade in with my fists flailing.

I do wonder why it seems that fighting the bad guys is no longer what you do. Running to a safe place (hmm, maybe the snowflakes are spreading their ideas) seems the only response.

It does not matter what he says or how he says it. The library media will distort it any way that can..

I guess I have a low bar for democratic participation. I think if people correctly understand what the candidates say about one or two issues that matter to them and they vote accordingly, we're shooting par.
"Not a good way to go, but useful to the politicians, they can separate and make up their stories for each group..."
    That's so true.

Newt Gingrich once observed "Trump frequently uses three words when thirty would have been better." The point is that, for the most part his followers don't really care while his enemies seize on any opportunity to be hyper critical. I suspect that President Trump is crazy like a fox. He knows exactly what he is doing and much of his rhetoric is engineered to drive the Democrats out of their minds. Judging from the consistent hysteria in the MSM and other bastions of the liberal-progressive cadre he is quite successful. I must order another bag of popcorn, this is so much fun to watch.

Me too...I'm tired and hungry due to being Forced to pay for everyone else; and that goes for government employees Too!
I'd rather share my meager bootie with my local community.
That's the way it used to be.

now, the immigrants seem to just want the goodies our socialist society offers and they want to recreate what they just left right here in the USA, but all the while getting the goodies WE work for. I am so done with that ! To immigrants who want that, I say NO and close the door.

If memory serves me, when this country sucked because it was over run by tyrants we the people revolted, died in battle but took our country back. In every news story we see throngs of refugees fleeing their countries and it is mostly males between 17-40 years old. Guess they left the woman and children behind to fend for themselves because their culture teaches that woman are unimportant.
If they don't like the way their country is being run then they should stay and fight to change it instead of being cowards. Here in the USA we just went through yet another revolution of sorts and threw the liberal tyrants to the curb by electing a complete stranger to our highest political office. It took decades for we the people to finally say we have had enough. For Muslims coming here from that region it has to be absolute culture shock and they want nothing to do with our culture. In reality they will be perfectly happy turning our country into the same horrible conditions they ran from. We call them "NO GO ZONES" and there are a few here already. Tell me if you can, where are all these so called "Good Muslims"? I certainly can't hear them.

When we have a mass influx of immigration from any country that speaks not our language, they tend to huddle together, further inhibiting their integration.
Didn't the crowding of black Americans into the cities have the same effect?

The press makes its money by getting people to sit through the commercials. Thtas their goal and we should all recognize that. I have concluded that with rare exceptions, the news that they report just isnt that important to my life, so I dont watch or listen to or read it anymore.
