Donald Trump refers to fictional Swedish incident as he blasts 'fake news'

Another good example of how Trump says what he means, but is so vague as to leave it wide open to media distortion. No doubt he is speaking to the fact Swededn opened it's doors to about 160,000 "refugees" and only 500 of them have been able to find work (since most probably do not speak swedish, not surprising) but there is a huge swell of media reports that Sweden is "politically covering up" the fact their rates of rape and violent crime have gone through the roof.

So he is not making it up, it is real, but because he does not lower himself to being so nats ass specific even a moronic media person can interpret it, it gets skewed and manipulated. This is the core of Fake news, take a fact, and twist it...

I heard a couple of months ago that the Swedish government had built public housing for the Muslim refugees, but the refugees didn't like the housing, so the government confiscated second homes from the Swedish people who had them and gave them to the refugees. I don't know if this is correct....sounds horrible, but the way things are going in that country, I wouldn't be surprised.

No one seems to recall the 4 "foreigners" who live streamed a rape for hours a couple weeks ago, near Uppsala. That one died a quick death, but seemed pretty terroristic to me...

CG, I can both agree and disagree with your psotion, you may be right about some of the voters, but I believe there are a lot who really did agree with his basic positions on things, and just accepted his "weirdness" as much as most other weird things politicians do. I think they also saw him as cleaner than most politicans, as his sins were more along business sins, and not political. I would cite his defencxe of Jews today, and his redo of the immigration issue, as proof he can figure out which way the wind is blowing. Maybe not, but I still think he will adapt to his new role. I am sure there is a lot more crap to be leaked about him, and this will be a long war with the left and the media.

Indeed, I would think the Swedes (who are a very "do your own thing" culture) are operating out of a sense of goodness and kindness, but when you push the boundaries of civility (which is also a common thread in these European cultures), stand by. The media in Sweden would usually play with the government, I was ther 1968-70, and they were whole hog for Olaf Palme and his socialist party. The Vietnam war and their acceptance of deserters became a real issue, because the deserters were identical to the refugees they have and they eventually were all asked to leave.

I have (had) two friends living in Sweden. One was from there (he recently passed away) and one is a kid I grew up with who moved there over 20 years ago, started experiencing the Swedish women, and decided to never come back. The one who was born there told me about the media in Sweden getting caught covering up horrible crimes against women by the immigrants - horrible. My friend from America dated a lovely Persian lady (he's like me - equal opportunity) who's brother was in prison in Sweden for killing his Swedish girlfriend (quite possible there was a cultural mismatch there...). What has been happening is Sweden bothers me. It's not all over the nation. And, my friend lives in a region where there is little disturbance. My dead friend was even conned into joining a candlelight march in support of a group of young emigrant men there who had been attacked by the local men....for, as it turned out later, committing a gang crime against one of the young Swedish women. You get the picture...

There was an actual incident the night before that he was referring to...the lamestream just doesn't get it and they do not do their homework...Oh, that's right...they were never given "Homework"...they just got a star for showing up.

Never thought I'd be defending a man I didn't vote for.

"most of the people who voted for him seemed to understand it."
I agree with your comment above except for your speculation that most Trump voters understood what he meant. I think most Trump voters had specific issues, like opposition to handouts, support for gun rights, or concern about health insurance premiums. They did not understand Trump, but they knew Clinton was not speaking positively about their concerns. This was enough to make them overlook Trump's antics and bigotry. A minority of voters voted for Trump, and a minority of this minority were the deplorables who are unhappy, unsophisticated, and looking for facile answers. They are not of a level of experience and education to know the difference between antics and getting things done. In the loose sense of the word, they "understood" Trump was ranting about being unhappy about life and giving a MLM-style huckster presentation about fixing whatever made them unhappy.

My point is it is the way Trump has always spoken in relation to specifics. I would say he would say "Look, they just went to the moon" meaning that sometime in the past they went to the moon. I don't know why he does it, you almost need a translator, but it was good enough to get him elected. He did it all through the campaign, yet most of the people who voted for him seemed to understand it. I know a lot of people I have talked to just say "It's Trump" and leave it at that. The problem is, he gives the media lots of material to work with. It was frustrating the whole campaign to listen to him, to the point you turned him off, as it is some where between stream of consciousness babble and brilliant manipulation.....

You look at what’s happening last night in Sweden. Sweden, who would believe this?
Is that "so vague as to leave it wide open" what the heck he's saying, or is it case of leaving "no doubt" what he means.
