This what you get when you are percieved as a weak, lilly livered nation, and it will get no better. It does, though, seem to be a move to make people insecure, and so, go for Trump as a "strong leader" type, so is it Putin thinking he can make a move against a weak country, or is it Putin helping Trump by trying to scare everyone....

The left wants this. They love things like nuclear bombs, bbq'd children, and vaporized innocent families. The next president will push this conflict like never before. They love it.

No doubt. She has no skills, other than manipulation common to most politicians..in their DNA...

And who here believes that she has unilateral decision-making abilities and power to back them up, rather than being a tool and puppet of the minds and controllers behind the scenes?

It would start a war, which is why it will only happen when that side has already decided to fight a war. But it won't start a general nuclear exchange (against civilian targets).

You don't think that nuking a battleship or aircraft carrier would provoke WW3? Or do I misunderstand you? While bombing a warship won't kill a million civilians, it is still plenty enough to incite lots of patriotism and a thirst for revenge. 911 which killed 3,000 caused a flare up of patriotism, and rather stupid retaliation, a big warship holds many thousands of Americans, not to mention the hardware.

Oh, you can bet on that, the Russians have had SSGNs shadowing them for 30-40 years now, but we have an SSN right behind them, the trick is to tell the SSN to fire first.

Regan let slip something at the UN, when he announced his Star Wars, one reason most conspiracy theorists say they created it.

What we could all use now is a credible threat from outer space. That's about the only thing that would unite us. Bring on the Borg!

And with a mighty passion! Jumping up and down with Melenia on his back trying to calm him down, saying, "Darlink! Tries to look more presidential!"

I don't see it that way any more, and I doubt most of the military does, either. Yes, nuking a city would be the ultimate provocation, but there are ways to use a nuke that will do little or no harm to civilians. For instance, I predict that in the first hour of the next major war, every carrier group at sea gets nuked. It's the perfect use for an atom bomb.

considering the subject first shown on the forum this might not be a bad thing.
it would get rid of them since Washington would probably be targeted.

That is from an unofficial source that could be politically motivated.
If the US military responds that way to russian propaganda tv then we should be more concerned about our military than Russia's military.
More likely the Hillary campaign manipulating voters using fear than any real threat.
Don't let them convince you to react in fear.
Next we will see Hillary or Trump repeat LBJ's nuclear bomb ads.

It's most likely simple posturing to justify their budget review. Obama's backing down after he drew a line in the sand was weak to be sure. And they'd rather have malleable Trump than Hillary the hawk. But at the end of the day, it's just posturing.

I think he believes she's irrational enough to blunder into a dangerous situation that could lead to a nuclear exchange. Foreign diplomacy is all about expectations. Trump talks about negotiations and plain dealing, while Hillary spouts neocon rhetoric, and flips from one position to another, depending on the audience. Is she in favor of a no-fly zone in Syria, even when that presents the danger of Russia or the U.S. shooting down the others aircraft? She wants to give the Kurds heavy weapons, even though that will cause real friction between the U.S. and Turkey. The evidence of poor judgment and dangerous decisions speaks for itself.

The saber rattling from Russia is an old ploy from cold war days. If there is one thing for sure that would get the Obama/Clinton combination into an all out war it would be the use of nuclear weapons. It used to be the USSR's fallback position, but now it is being played because of the USA's weaknesses. The Clintons America of '18 will be a weak, poverty-stricken socialist country where the only ones not waiting in line will be the one-party Washington elite.
