The rule of law is in place so crony govt pet agencies, BLM in particular here, cannot just swoop in and do what they please through intimidation. The line is drawn in the sand. I think Texas will win.

Considering the BLM isn't authorized by Congress in a law enforcement capacity, I wonder how they will come and take it. If the BLM agents get shot in the process, technically they had no legal reason to be there, armed, in the first place. Congress wanted BLM to use local law enforcement for these purposes.

Every Federal agency now has armed personnel and SWAT training, even including the Dept of Education, Social Security, and Dept of Fisheries.

And they wonder why so many of us are armed?? As for Congress, it doesn't seem that any of them really care much what Congress does or doesn't do.

And every one of them are united in a unholy alignment called "Homeland Security". All that is needed is a change of "department" patches and shirts and they are all HS and answer to one man - POTUS.

Let's see, brown shirts and black boots would seem appropriate.

They need something to identify them as a unified government agency... all under one overarching, all wise leader.

Lessee... Homburg hats? Naw, too problematic, as some people would have to wear other types of hats.

Identical neckties? Same problem - some people couldn't do that. (Well, there *are* the round hemp variety, but I digress...)

I got it! How about a snazzy armband, everyone can wear one, all the same color. We need a logo on it, tho... just to show it's an official armband. That's the ticket!

      Hey Abbott! (Lew Costello)
Is Harry Reid the "Bud Abbott" here?
What the heck is going on? It's like a Grand Conspiracy is in operation with land grabs and all that.
Of course such a conspiracy would extend back into the Bush and Clinton years where the BLM has been following a long-term planned execution of a scheme to grab land et cetera.
      Far fetched?

      Pfft.. Who needs Congress?

Actually their first act will probably be to nationalize the Guard to enforce it. Gone are the days of the State Militias standing in the way of "progress"...

It is my considered opinion that one cannot nationalize the National Guard if it refuses to be nationalized. The National Guard has a volitional say in the matter.

But national guard units have a regular army liaison. That officer would be empowered to arrest (or more) any member not recognizing the nationalization order.

Could this possibly have anything to do, behind the scenes, with water? I know the epa has plans to control every single bit of water in the states, be it a pond on your personal property or the Mississippi River. I notice this property is along the Red River. Glad to see Texas has a lot of reps with backbones. May have to go live there. In the northern half.

I was born and raised in Arizona, I am a desert Rat. My mother is a staunch Democrat, I stuffed envelopes for Bob Stump, before he switched sides, I adored Rose Mofford. No, John McCain is an embarrassment, and all of my family that is still in Phoenix are Democrats and they are all in for love and tolerance... as long as it it me bending to them. It does NOT go both ways. I love AZ, the desert, the mountains, the DRY AIR.. The people, not so much. I never thought I'd miss it as much as I did, but watching the last 10 years+ I am very proud to have given birth to a Texan and I am a firm believer in Texas standards. Greg Abbott is fantastic and I'm very glad (fiscally speaking) that I'm here. Roads are crazy but methods work....

Something about the (currently) 30 lawsuits AG Abbott has filed against the self-entitled yanqui invaders from Chicago, and that he is looking over all the BLM land grabs that have, perhaps, wrongfully removed sovereign Texas lands from the people of the great State...

While I so love our home and business in Jefferson, perhaps it's time to return to the Lone Star Republic...

The BLM's going to get someone killed in all of this mess. What in the world makes anyone think that the government under Obama is going to pay any attention to a court ruling that won't be finalized until long after he's gone. They've showed for 6 years now that they have no fear of punishment, and before Obama did pretty much the same. It's a long old story with no discernible reason behind any of it.

We have to get the guns out of those idiots hands when they're on the job, Then we have to get rid of them.

Just had to comment on The National Guard. The young people I know in the guard believe what the Federal Government tells them
That is why so many have come back with their lives destroyed from all the places they were never supposed to be sent to like Afghanistan

I'd believe the Texas A.G.'s sincerity more if he'd stop invoking "the rule of law" while referring to either of two republics as "democracies". It's oxymoronic in a surreal way.

(for the simple-minded in the audience: republic = rule of law; democracy = rule of the majority.)
