Since Obama keeps his college records hid, we don't know if he is qualified either.
Not to mention that birth certificate thing.

We have to estimate his qualifications based on his record. He deficit spends like no one earlier. He stays in wars and in fact expands them. He cant stand up to Putin , man to man. He seems to pander to muslims more than he should. He doesnt stick up for USA when he talks. I think these things speak loudly as to his qualifications.

The incompetent people that he has appointed are clearly not limited to "black people"; so, all I can infer from your comment is collectivist thinking at best and racist thinking at worst. If neither is the case, I will apologize...and I don't anticipate I'll need to.

Categorizing people by race in a political discussion is as incompetent an argument as the actions of Obama's appointees.

I could care less that they are black or yellow or whatever. I do care if they are incompetent, which Obama seems to be able to pick very well. Not being a really thorough listing admittedly, but they also seem to be primarily blacks who are also incompetent, which makes me wonder if HE is the racist one.

You dont have to apologize. I am just telling you how it appears to me based on the knowledge I have and my observations.

I DO have to say that I am pretty disgusted with all this pandering to the entitled black culture that is going on (for whatever reason). "black lives matter" particularly disturbs me, since "all lives matter", and police brutality should be treated as just THAT- no matter who the victims are.

I just want a real administrator to be president who will proudly represent the USA , not interfere in everyone else's business, and not have deficit spending or wanton printing of our money, and who is NOT politically correct. I dont want a king, some religious zealot, a socialist etc.

Then, there isn't much point inserting a race descriptor in the conversation for the same reason it isn't necessary to have one pointing out all the "white" incompetents in government.

If an individual's life matters, then their skin color isn't what stands out in their life.

tell that to Obama. I dont think he believes it. He seems to give special attention to his black brothers. He is definitely not what I would consider free of race bias.

This is a brilliant move on Trumps part. Laying out his cabinet picks will reveal his true colors and clear up the "Trump is a RINO" argument. Lets see if he does it.

I've been at least aware of The Donald for a good many years now, and love him or hate him, the one thing that I've always noticed about the man is that he calls his shots. And I have little doubt that if he were to be elected, Mr. Gowdy will be appointed AG if he chooses to accept. Further, woe betide the Congress that shoots down the appointment. Mr. Trump is, I believe, vindictive as hell and he has a LONG memory.

      Trump has three negatives.

He's a Republican and therefore a member of the Government Party Coalition and there fore left wing.

      He's a corporatist socialist

I have a rule on note voting for anyone who fits that description.

So vote for an Obama clone like Hillary or Biden and see what you get. Vote for Carson or the other Repub candidates and get some screaming religious zealot. Vote for a third Bush? The apple doesnt fall far from the tree I suspect. At least with Trump, he will tell it like it is without lying to us like Hillary. He made his money already and doesnt need political correctness. He has to be in one of the two parties in order to be elected- no independents actually can get enough electoral college votes.

Why limit yourself to left wing socialists? They have been 100 percent winners in the art of failing and are none of them are friends of the Constitution. I fail to see the attraction except in the case of Secular Progressives. But then to paraphrase one commentator the republicans are unperfected Socialists while the Democrats are really close to being perfected socialists. We need a new term. CINO for Citizens In Name Only.

You can't come up with other choices than the Same Old Tired Socialist Roaders offered by the Government Party?

I think we have seen all the people who are willing to run for president. Its very grueling, you get all your dirty laundry (political incorrectnesses) exposed, and it doesnt pay a lot while in office.
In todays society, we arent going to see a true blooded free market advocate actually running and coming close to winning. The entitled electorate wants goodies, and free market people are going to tell them to go out and work for them. The country has to fall before such a person would be listened to. Thats the way it was even in Atlas Shrugged, and also in present day Venezuela.

In this case it is truly easy for me to say. I have attained what you seek But let's suppose my current sources of income suddenly evaporate. My original statement stands.

I assure you I think about such a very possible ending of that sort. When the military pay and retirement benefits are cut such as just happened 2008 to present.

We weren't alone. The older folks on retirement even you suffered the same pay cuts. Inflation, devaluation, debt repudiation.

I have found myself cutting back on expenses quite severely One can go only so far with this approach. A lot of expenses keep going up with inflation like real estate taxes, food, and medical care. Disposable income for cars, travel, clothes, gadgets, and eating out go first It's very scary now that the fed has destroyed interest in savings too

A bit premature, I would think. Seems like Trump has already crowned himself the winner. However, if he keeps making stupid remarks like he did about Fiorina, I doubt he'll get the nomination. I may like what he says, but this guy is so full of himself he thinks that he can get away with denigrating people on irrelevancies and get away with it. I'm OK with people who have strong egos, but I'm beginning to think that Trump's ego display is covering up some sort of inadequacies.

I disagree... I build a lot of program/project proposals & bids for government agencies, military, etc. We propose and provide resumes for the entire key staff / team, indicating, this is who will operate the program/project if we win.

I like the idea, he is saying "if you vote for me, this is what my team will look like". Donald Trump wouldn't be out chasing criminals. Seeing who would is an interesting aspect.

In our bids, it is obviously "proposed" because if the agency takes 6 months to award the contract, we're not leaving $100k to $250k people sitting on the bench hoping for a maybe/if. If we reallocate them, we document the changes upon award, but try to keep as much of the proposed team as possible.

Similarly, Trump indicated he was bringing Carl Icahn for economic liaison to China/Japan... which is brilliant as well... I don't think Obama can spell "Currency Manipulation", let alone understand it, or any of his 'advisors'. We had the same problem with Clinton... Remember Joselyn Elders as surgeon general with "Clapner" and teaching kids to masturbate in grade school?

I loved how Hillary will 'get tough' with Iran and 'use military action if necessary'... Just like Clinton did with the USS Cole (nothing), and how he turned down Bin Laden's head when the Saudi's offered him up. Then sent Tomahawks in to blow up empty/deserted campsites.

If Trump can illustrate out what the cabinet 'Dream Team' would look like, it's a compelling approach. Would you rather look at something like that and think? "Yeah, these guys can do that." Or guess out of thin air which 'major donors' or 'money aggregators' are going to get those jobs under a Bush or Clinton presidency.

Not picking anyone from "the government" doesn't automatically make someone the best to hold a position in government. It's way too general a criteria to have any meaning. As is Trump's criticism of our current governmental mess. It's easy for many people to point out how "stupid" some of our politicians act. There are also a lot of people that have made tons of money in business, but that doesn't guarantee one is ready to uphold the Constitution. Just taking potshots at your adversaries is setting the bar too low for POTUS.

He has yet to clearly identify who and what he is. Yes, he's veeerrry rich, and he talks a good game, but he hasn't as yet told how he's going to do what he claims, when he is going to do it and why it needs to be done. Generalities are OK when speaking platitudes, but he's proposed some interesting but radical ideas and it's more important to know how he'll do it than who is going to be in his cabinet at this point. Whoever they are, they are going to need direction and we must know what it is.

I'm not really concerned about that yet - it can take months to build that out in a coherent-sounding argument. He's too well-organized from a business perspective to not have people working on issues & details. It can take a while to make a real proposal that respects revenue needs versus giving tax relief, versus taking a deep-dive on cutting entitlements / etc.

I personally think he will govern much differently than a campaign, but the nasty truth in this country is, if you say "78% of the federal government is spent on entitlements, we need to look at entitlements"... 55% of the people would never vote for you. You lose by default.

We have more people riding in the cart, than pulling the cart at this point.

He has no political correctness. Thank god for that. We need the issues brought out to be thought about, and Trump certainly does that. I didnt read his Fiorina comments, but there is probably something to what he said. His comments about Ben Carson certainly brought out the phony sounding "god" stuff that Carson has been spouting. We dont need god stuff in federal government- after all which "god" should the government listen to? Iran's god, mormon god, there are hundreds of "gods" people believe in.

His comments, in effect, were that she wouldn't get votes because she was ugly. Sorta the pot calling the kettle black. The intelligent thing to do would have been to criticize what she said. He can't because, first what she says is right, and second, he doesn't have the intellectual capacity, and thrird, she's rather attractive, not in the Charlize Therone sense, but just a good looking woman.

He's getting ahead of himself at the moment, as the smaller ones drop out, their support may not necessarily coalesce around him. Carson has been moving up as people are moving toward a more-likely candidate. Same with Fiorina.

He may very well win the nomination, but his growth has not been as fast as some of the others that went from single digits to double digits quickly, while [Jeb for example], dropped like a stone. Perry, Bush, Walker, Kasich, etc., will drop out soon. Where their support follows will grow support for the campaigns that benefit. That may be Trump, it may be another, but there are enough votes in the rest of the field to overtake him.

I personally think the answer will be "anyone that has not spent their life in politics. "

she is definitely NOT a good looking woman. Not to say thats a qualification for president- angela merkel is definitely NOT good looking, but so what.

In this country, being good looking as a woman does have benefits in business and government too. I would agree with him that she will get LESS voted looking the way she does.

I guess "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
To me, good-looking means average, not ugly, not beautiful. Neither a Disney witch nor Cameron Diaz. Certainly not the description by Trump in the Rolling Stone article.

I suppose he is entitled to his qualifications for "beautiful". As I understand it, all he said was she was not going to get as many votes based on her beauty. I think generally our culture rewards so called "beautiful" people more than not so beautiful people- they get better jobs, more money, TV and movie roles, etc., and I think also more votes. So he was just reflecting what our culture does presently, It may not sound very rational, but I think its the reality of our times.

Yes, it's premature for Trump to be picking his cabinet, but a fun exercise, nonetheless.

I've been thinking Ron Paul would be a good choice for Secretary of the Treasury.

    Hello AJAshinoff,
I like Trey Gowdy. He is a good choice which speaks well of Mr. Trump, but I wonder if Gowdy would make a better AG than Trump would POTUS.
There is much yet to be seen... Time will tell, but I have the feeling Trump is eventually going to step in it too deeply... We shall see.
Trump is not my ideal candidate, or my choice among the present contenders. In fairness, if sincere, he does seem an improvement over our current Marxist Dear Leader.
    Regards,
    O.A.

Trump is compelling if you consider who and what he is: a business man and an opportunist. He's done and said what he needs to in order to make a profit for himself and is completely unapologetic toward what others think. As for crowning himself the winner, of course he has. Trump already fully believes that he is the best and only person suited for the job - thats who he is, thats what has made him a billionaire. He also has a history expressing his dismay over the country's direction going back to the Nixon era.

I'm still standoffish but have to admit Trump is compelling. I do, so far, like his cabinet selections.

Billionaire Carl Icahn - Secretary of Treasury
Pit-bull Trey Gowdy - Attorney General

Trump remains the ultimate marketing scion, keeping the media off balance. He's clever to announce Gowdy as the AG he would want in his cabinet, as this is enormously popular with conservatives. He's also dropped Sarah Palin's name, without any specific position identified. If he continues to maintain his position as leader, and as other wannabes begin to drop out, it will be revealing who he names as the person he wants for VP. Cruz seems to be aiming for that spot, if Trump doesn't collapse, but Trump might go for Fiorina or Carson, since they have less extreme images and a solid following of their own.

Both Ben Carson and Bobby Jindal have begun attacking Trump. Not a good way to campaign for a cabinet position. Seems promises have been made that if Trump can be ousted they could play for Bush's team and consensus seems to be Trump will be ousted, sworn allegiance to the party or not. Too bad and a bit disappointing to think they would sell out so soon.

Remember, George H.W. Bush had some pretty nasty things to say about Reagan, who fired back, but they made a pretty good team nonetheless. I think Trump and Fiorina would tell you that taking anything said in competition seriously gets in the way of the deal.
