Both Ben Carson and Bobby Jindal have begun attacking Trump. Not a good way to campaign for a cabinet position. Seems promises have been made that if Trump can be ousted they could play for Bush's team and consensus seems to be Trump will be ousted, sworn allegiance to the party or not. Too bad and a bit disappointing to think they would sell out so soon.

Who would be your candidate? I can't think of anyone running who would pass those rules - democrat or republican

    Only in baseball.
With politics, as you may witness in some of Trump's lip-slips, an infinite number of strikes is OK, because you write the rules as you go along.

    Hello AJAshinoff,
I like Trey Gowdy. He is a good choice which speaks well of Mr. Trump, but I wonder if Gowdy would make a better AG than Trump would POTUS.
There is much yet to be seen... Time will tell, but I have the feeling Trump is eventually going to step in it too deeply... We shall see.
Trump is not my ideal candidate, or my choice among the present contenders. In fairness, if sincere, he does seem an improvement over our current Marxist Dear Leader.
    Regards,
    O.A.

I'm an 81 year old Objectivist. I call 'em as I see 'em. Anyone don't like it (As my Polish-American mom would say) they can kiss my royal American ass. She would remove the "ass" depending on the company. I loved my mom.

Careful, Herb; as you can see, they don't take kindly around here to pointing out the 'bald spots' in Trump's comb-over maturity.

I have found myself cutting back on expenses quite severely One can go only so far with this approach. A lot of expenses keep going up with inflation like real estate taxes, food, and medical care. Disposable income for cars, travel, clothes, gadgets, and eating out go first It's very scary now that the fed has destroyed interest in savings too

I won't underestimate him as long as you don't overestimate him.
    "Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
They are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself to others,
You may become vain and bitter,
For always there will be greater and lesser
    persons than yourself."

In this case it is truly easy for me to say. I have attained what you seek But let's suppose my current sources of income suddenly evaporate. My original statement stands.

I assure you I think about such a very possible ending of that sort. When the military pay and retirement benefits are cut such as just happened 2008 to present.

We weren't alone. The older folks on retirement even you suffered the same pay cuts. Inflation, devaluation, debt repudiation.

Do not underestimate The Donald. He is probably ten to twenty steps ahead of everyone else including you and me.

It takes independent portable wealth to really do a gulch. I am trying as hard as I can to do just that before the whole thing collapses here

I would love to NOT PLAY, and relocate to a gulch where all this nonsense wasnt a factor at all. I would be happy to just have a good life based on my own work and trading with others.

Personally, I'd like to see their pants catch on fire like in that old "liar, liar, pants on fire" rock song.

Since The Answer is None and after examining the system to learn why I'll fall back on the answer fro
War Games. The only way to win is not play.Maybe the discussion should be shifted to useful topics

I'll go start a thread I have just the one in mind.

I suppose he is entitled to his qualifications for "beautiful". As I understand it, all he said was she was not going to get as many votes based on her beauty. I think generally our culture rewards so called "beautiful" people more than not so beautiful people- they get better jobs, more money, TV and movie roles, etc., and I think also more votes. So he was just reflecting what our culture does presently, It may not sound very rational, but I think its the reality of our times.

Dont they all seem to lie. I would love if there was a warning light which went off on news broadcasts and press conferences when the speaker was lying. At least we could easily know to disregard what was said

tell that to Obama. I dont think he believes it. He seems to give special attention to his black brothers. He is definitely not what I would consider free of race bias.

Then, there isn't much point inserting a race descriptor in the conversation for the same reason it isn't necessary to have one pointing out all the "white" incompetents in government.

If an individual's life matters, then their skin color isn't what stands out in their life.
