They got fined for doing what the Federal Reserve gets paid to do. Any time they add or remove liquidity to or from the system, they are engaging in currency manipulation.

One would think the responsible thing to do would be to pay down some of that debt with the money. It is more probable that the money will just disappear, probably to fund some pet project of some crony. Solyndra comes to mind.

It would be helpful to look at this extortive behavior as The Mafia Goes To Washington. Barack's gang is just dividing up the spoils Only FOB need apply. The rest of us not only get nothing - we and our progeny will pay for their criminal acts in higher taxes and property seizures.
