If we all voted for the candidate with the least campaign commercials and the least ads ran in his name we might get candidates that vote to make the country better rather than candidates paid to work against us.

The commercials are almost an industry that depends on our thinking that certain politicians or parties are saving or destroying the country. People who follow TV news often really believe President Bush or President Obama personally took intentional egregious actions to undermine the entire country. The industry needs people to think "OMG Obama/Bush is destroying our freedom! We need someone like Bush/Obama."

The whole thing borders on a scam. It's not a true scam. It's just what works. You want to run for office, so you ask an expert what works. They tell you the networks are whipping people into a frenzy about Democrats or Republicans. If you get behind one of the parties, you'll get the benefit of the party plus the diehard partisans who follow Fox News or The Nation magazine.

I clicked on this topic expecting to find something about "Going Galt."

I don't want politicians who would vote (for laws) to "make the country better" (in THEIR opinons).

I would vote for lawmakers who would vote to repeal hundreds if not thousands of laws which have clearly made the country worse.

I clicked on this topic expecting to find something about "Going Galt" but there is nothing about that here.

For anyone else who is looking for more information about Going Galt, here is one topic I submitted recently that deals with the subject"

How about we vote for the candidate that best represents the Constitution and limited government?

Basing your vote on the least promoted candidate means you get the lunatics and flakes who are so outside the thinking of sane and rational people.
