Thanks Kathy. I like to listen without the spin but it was tough. It's amazing to me that after 6 years he still has no respect for the office he holds and the damage he is doing.
Since this cretin has never been allowed in my house I know your feelings."Revolting" is too kind a description of what must have been the usual self-praise and glory act. "Puke Producing" is more fitting.
I couldn't bear to watch it. I would have either died from alcohol poisoning or shot my TV and speakers. Herbert Lom put it best in one of the Pink Panther movies. "I hate every molecule in his body." Or how about this one? Just switch a couple of words and it works.. "Gstaad. Today, a paradise in the alps - tomorrow, a wasteland. Compared to Clouseau, Attila the Hun was a Red Cross volunteer! "
This was no State of the Union address. This was a proclamation, a declaration of political war, and a threat. A threat couched in the most pathetic of terms: "Yes, but..."
Any psychiatrist knows how his clients often play that game.
Straight up. I can't bear to watch or even listen to that man. I can't bear the constant lying and the arrogant tone of his voice. This guy worships himself.
True. In 2 years Islamist Extremities will control a large portion of the Middle East. Everything going according to plan I couldn't believe he was taking childish jabs and then talked about how the fund raising has to stop and the debates should be more civil. Another new low.
I guess I was shoveling rain yesterday. It's sad when "experts" can't even agree on the temperature. According to satellite data 2014 wasn't even close to the warmest year.
I guess I have had more than my share of listening to the filth that I need to blow off a lot of steam. When theft becomes moral, it is time for some righteous indignation.
Ginsberg as always looked ridiculous in her Pharaoh wanna be collar. I lost count of the lies he told in under 2 minutes. His 'I have no more campaigns to run. I won the last 2 comment' really rankled me. Arrogant asshat!!! and lots of other unlady like words strung together.
Actually, Bill Clinton set the record for the longest SOTU address. Obama didn't come close last night.
But I think we all would have preferred a different result.
Right when the House Doorkeeper said, "Mister Speak..." the screen whites out.
Then we all hear a voice--a man's cold, implacable voice, the kind we hear only rarely on the airwaves today, if at all--saying:
"Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Obama will not speak to you tonight. His time is up. I have taken it over. You were to hear a report on the State of the Union. That is exactly what you are going to hear..."
He really want's to "turn the page" because the world isn't fitting his utopian belief that taxing the snot out of people and putting 40 million on food stamps would have solved all the world's problems.
Six years later... most of the Middle East is under siege from ISIS, the Muslim Brotherhood, Assad is looking like a good guy suddenly, the Cold War is practically restarting with Russia, and maybe if we just give people free child care (paid for by everyone else... ) then we got this stuff licked!
He is really out of touch with world affairs. I think he actually thinks world leaders care what he thinks. Six years of lying and standing by while terrorists take over more and more of the world makes him look foolish. Two more years of this. Yuk.
Ah... finally found it on the WH site with a google search AND fixed the Adobe Flash/IE-11 incompatibility problem AND watched the whole show.
1) App needed that would automatically skip applause-tagged or -recognized sections. 2) The Politics section near the end, around the 54-55-minute marks was actually, to me, quite sensible and could have been inspiring... maybe if he'd spent the previous 45 minutes elaborating on THOSE ideas rather than the partisan crap he was spewing all the way UP TO that point.
The last ten minutes were almost worth wading through 50 minutes of dreck.
A few highlights were I think I saw a guy fart while everyone was clapping and Boehner's spray tan started to melt off his face. So far all downhill from there.
I just couldn't do it. We watched the Ted Talk freedom posted instead. What do you think about letting a new senator give the response? is that typical?
That was great (the neutering pigs thing). She is new and will help short term to change things up but we need to watch her. She may turn out to be just like the rest of them.
I don't really see her as having national appeal. She gave a good generic speech. I did like the part where she said bills will be passed in the house and senate and then the pres will veto. Her camo heals did nothing for me.
I neither watched nor listened to the SOTU. I didn't wish to pollute my senses with the garbage mixed with the B.S. that I knew was going to spew forth. I suppose he thinks if he tells us all is well often enough, someone will actually believe it. Sadly, a few people actually do believe it. I did pick up on Valeri Jarrett trying to justify what BHO said, but my gorge rose after a few minutes of that. I switched to the History Channel and then a little bit of Jimmy Kimmel and then off to bed. This morning I got a bad case of pundititis, so I picked up an excellent biography of John Adams and left the TV off. I feel better now. Cleaner too.
health care isn't enough... now we need state-provided child care too! and free college so the high-school dropout welfare queens can dump the kids off and smoke a legal doobie while pretending to be at 'junior college'.
The Republicans have an opening when it comes to the Community College freebie. If public schools were doing their job 2 years of CC would not be necessary.
Mostly CC is a joke. Manufacturers used to have apprentice programs. The investment paid off because even if an apprentice graduated to full employment but then left another employee that went thru apprentice somewhere else could be hired. This was all private. Now CEO's want taxpayer handout to partner with dysfunctional CC and government.
I call it SOTA because that means prostitute. But boner will dick us just the same as O'BooBoo. To fix the country, the most important change is that all Political Parties must be abolished, as was the system initially and as Washington and Madison warned us against having.
I think you are right, Larry. All the smaller-govt groups that are activists for individual causes need to join together for the one cause of ousting ALL Dems and GOP con-gress-critters and support only liberty minded independents. Divided they accomplish nothing.
When he uttered the famous "We are our brother's keeper" and the comment about Fair Share, I found myself having to rinse out my mouth. And that horse, um, "stuff" about "honoring his veto"... you can tell, the emperor speaketh, and his minions stand and cheer and have looks of adoration and awe...
(Urp... burble... pardon me, time to rinse out the mouth again...)
The real fun one, tho, was when he brought up closing GITMO, and how releasing the prisoners was such a great thing... and they panned the service members... not a one of them were applauding, smiling, or even amused. In fact... they looked rather pissed.
I don't get the obsession with Gitmo. Either we release known terrorists or transfer them. I doubt that we would release them all so we just hold them in a prison with a different name. How does this help???
Actually, AG, implementation of the socialist/communist ideology in the last century was quite successful. Consider its main tenet is to make everyone equal. Then consider the only place all mankind is truly equal is in the graveyard. Given the implementation of the ideology resulted in making millions of people prematurely truly equal, then one must conclude it was successful. However, living thinking individuals would rather do without that kind of success. ;-)
The question has been answered every time it has been tried. Unfortunately the number of people on the take combined with the number of people too stupid to know better is growing by the day.
None taken Freedom. I had hoped that the Democratic Elders would have taken him aside by now and explained that they need to start winning elections again. This behavior is killing them. If this continues the Democratic candidate in 2016 doesn't stand a chance. I'm fine with that but it still surprises me.
I was basking in the shadow of peace in the Mideast, so I have to ask. My hearing has gone bad during my seasoned citizenship but I swear I heard him say that our debt is reduced. Did I?
#2 I heard on the radio today that in exchange for the XL pipeline, the GOP agreed that climate change is real. Did I?
The yearly deficit is down for now. He had to say it quickly because it is going to skyrocket again soon. I hope they get the pipeline done without strings attached. It just needs to get done.
Ah so. It's down from its all time high. Now I understand. I guess he got his math education in California. What's 18 trillion give or take a few billion? Still more spending than all of the presidents before him.
Now the tough one. Can you still go to community college free if you dropped out of high school in the 8th grade?
Whether the winner is D or R doesn't matter. They just take turns and blame the other guys for all that goes wrong. The Elders likely wrote the damn thing for him. It's the R's turn now; the D's are on part time work for 4 to 8 years while the media builds up the wrath of the people against the R's again. Of course the R's could choose another loser candidate for POTUS like all the R choices since Reagan left office. GHWBush won once only because of Reagan's popularity. GWBush cheated twice. All the other R's just lost because they were loyal losers with not a shred of American independence and responsibility.
me either. If I want to be bored, infuriated, miserable, impatient...etc..... I can stare at the wall and hit my arthritic knee with a hammer. it's be better.
I watched Amazon's new series pilot The Man in the High Castle (from 'alternate history' Hugo awarded novel by Philip K Dick) last night. Looks like it could be a good series and will likely be funded. Forget the hammer, and be entertained instead ;^)
The most telling thing was Obama's closing statement, in which he said "I took an oath to do what I thought was best for the American people."
As I recall, the oath he took was to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. I don't think there was anything in that about doing what you damn well please that you think is best for the rest of us.
If 80% of the American people are uninformed voters Obama's words are music to their ears. That percentage may have changed since the last election but how much? There are huge numbers of our people who have listened to the greatest liars and now live on the backs of tax payers . Hard working citizens are being suffocated by the weight.
The one thing I keep thinking is that most of the oblivious minions didn't listen last night. They know if they are better off or not and if the 2014 results are any indication things better change soon.

Anyone else remember that one?

She the favored of the supposed socialist...I mean Democrat front runners.
Joni Ernst was ok. She might be one of us.

And I predict nothing will change.
I switched to listening a very monotonous version of This is John Galt Speaking on Youtube.

You know that it's just going to aggravate you.
Take a photo of O to the shooting range instead.
Wondering what gun range will police it.
