I'm trying to watch the State of the Union address. Obama is an embarrassment.

Producing" is more fitting.
Herbert Lom put it best in one of the Pink Panther movies. "I hate every molecule in his body."
Or how about this one? Just switch a couple of words and it works..
"Gstaad. Today, a paradise in the alps - tomorrow, a wasteland. Compared to Clouseau, Attila the Hun was a Red Cross volunteer! "
This was no State of the Union address. This was a proclamation, a declaration of political war, and a threat. A threat couched in the most pathetic of terms: "Yes, but..."
Any psychiatrist knows how his clients often play that game.

But I think we all would have preferred a different result.
Right when the House Doorkeeper said, "Mister Speak..." the screen whites out.
Then we all hear a voice--a man's cold, implacable voice, the kind we hear only rarely on the airwaves today, if at all--saying:
"Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Obama will not speak to you tonight. His time is up. I have taken it over. You were to hear a report on the State of the Union. That is exactly what you are going to hear..."

Six years later... most of the Middle East is under siege from ISIS, the Muslim Brotherhood, Assad is looking like a good guy suddenly, the Cold War is practically restarting with Russia, and maybe if we just give people free child care (paid for by everyone else... ) then we got this stuff licked!
She the favored of the supposed socialist...I mean Democrat front runners.
Joni Ernst was ok. She might be one of us.
1) App needed that would automatically skip applause-tagged or -recognized sections.
2) The Politics section near the end, around the 54-55-minute marks was actually, to me, quite sensible and could have been inspiring... maybe if he'd spent the previous 45 minutes elaborating on THOSE ideas rather than the partisan crap he was spewing all the way UP TO that point.
The last ten minutes were almost worth wading through 50 minutes of dreck.
And I predict nothing will change.

Divided they accomplish nothing.
When he uttered the famous "We are our brother's keeper" and the comment about Fair Share, I found myself having to rinse out my mouth. And that horse, um, "stuff" about "honoring his veto"... you can tell, the emperor speaketh, and his minions stand and cheer and have looks of adoration and awe...
(Urp... burble... pardon me, time to rinse out the mouth again...)
The real fun one, tho, was when he brought up closing GITMO, and how releasing the prisoners was such a great thing... and they panned the service members... not a one of them were applauding, smiling, or even amused. In fact... they looked rather pissed.
You know that it's just going to aggravate you.

it quickly because it is going to skyrocket again soon. I hope they get the pipeline done without strings attached. It just needs to get done.
Now the tough one. Can you still go to community college free if you dropped out of high school in the 8th grade?
As I recall, the oath he took was to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. I don't think there was anything in that about doing what you damn well please that you think is best for the rest of us.
