We Are Awakened

We are awakened

1) To the infiltration of our elementary and secondary schools with a) critical race theory; b) to pooling of items (that were required by me as a parent to purchase before her then kindergarten classes started) into a common pile in front of my wife, my daughter, and me; c) to forced altruism in the form of countless school fundraisers and endless "volunteer" time; d) to failure to include laws of economics anywhere in their curricula; e) to rewriting of history (i.e. the 1619 project); etc.

2) To the promotion of Balph Eubankses over Hugh Akstons in university philosophy departments (other than mine at FIT);

3) To the promotion of Robert Stadlers (i.e. moochers begging looters for the financing of their research) at the expense of producers;

4) To the promotion of very expensive energy technologies so as to line the pockets of looters and their friends at the expense of the Ellis Wyatts of the world;

5) To the fact that "official" inflation is MUCH less than real inflation (not including the increased costs of energy, college education, healthcare, etc.)

6) To the encouragement of all information to be publicly available on the Internet (rather than properly protected so that its inventors can capitalize of the generation of such information);

From Atlas Shrugged as spoken by Floyd Ferris:

“Genius is a superstition… There’s no such thing as the intellect. A man’s brain is a social product. A sum of influences that he’s picked up from those around him. Nobody invents anything, he merely reflects what’s floating in the social atmosphere. A genius is an intellectual scavenger and a greedy hoarder of the ideas which rightfully belong to society, from which he stole them. All thought is theft. If we do away with private fortunes, we’ll have a fairer distribution of wealth. If we do away with the genius, we’ll have a fairer distribution of ideas.”

7) To the intentional confusion of fact vs. fiction;

8) To the de-platforming of facts that contradict the "narrative";

9) To the bastardization of science now being defined as the current opinions of so-called experts;

10) To the complete waste of time, money, and lives of all wars the U.S. has been involved with since at least 1960 (with apologies to the effort of veterans on Veterans Day) because we have elected some presidents who do not understand the cost;

11) To defending others' borders and liberties while we open our own borders to every rotter and then pay them more for "being separated from their families (except in most cases, their "family members" are really drug cartel members) than we pay to families of those dying during military service;

12) To the concept of a "fair share"; (Who defines a "fair share" is so easily bastardized. Also see item 6 above.)

13) To words and phrases no longer meaning what they used to mean (An example that is underappreciated is cis vs. trans. If necessary, look up what those means in terms of chemistry isomers. The low energy configuration is the trans configuration. I now have to explain when I use the terms cis and trans that I am referring to the chemical definition of cis vs. trans., as opposed to the gender confusion);

14) To the fact that viruses replicate by co-opting the DNA reproductive cycle of healthy cells, ... and that both viral replication and vaccine gene delivery (taught in my nanotech class) require penetration of a cell's nucleus and rewriting of segments of DNA (which is thus obviously is a serious carcinogen, mutagen, and teratogen risk - and people wonder why other people are hesitant to take vaccines);

15) To looters telling us that trillions of dollars of "infrastructure" (i.e. payoffs to Democrat looters and their contributors) will cost us nothing;

16) To looters that refuse to acknowledge and submit to lawful orders, but instead create unlawful orders to whom everyone must submit ... except them;

From Atlas Shrugged as spoken by Floyd Ferris:

“Do you really think that we wont those laws to be observed? … We want them broken. … There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted — and you create a nation of law-breakers — and then you cash in on guilt.”

17) To SARS-CoV-2 being the Project X of our lifetimes;

and 18) To the promotion of a morality that contradicts the moral case for Objectivism in every way possible and that Ayn Rand was right on target.

In addition to adding to this list, please also comment on John Adams' quote: "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." There are some benefits to the U.S. Constitution over Objectivism in a society that is not purely Objectivist. While both an Objectivist society and a U.S. Constitutional society are inherently unstable in that they are susceptible to infiltration by looters and moochers, the U.S. Constitutional society is much less vulnerable than an Objectivist society to such infiltration. That being said, a U.S. Constitutional society is not invulnerable; in fact, it is quite vulnerable.

You may recall that, at the end of Atlas Shrugged, there was a rewriting of the Constitution. What would have been rewritten? There are a few items I can think of.

    Most of the left’s claims come from slogans that deceive. For the ecology or for the poor folks or for eQuality . The kinder gentler party are filled with pedos , wife beaters and scumbags. This is the Qreat Awakening.

    Perhaps they never knew such history of their ancestors! It is amazingly common to see that the view of history of this generation is anything since they were born, if even that long.

    What irritates me is that people of this country particularly those whose grandparents/great-grandparents were immigrants at the beginning of the twentieth century forgot where they came from. Maybe they deny why their recent ancestors came to America. This is part of the root of the problem. In other words, they have forgotten their own history.

    I am actually kind of stunned that you are the first person to comment on the "religious" part of this. I do think that Adams was right in saying that the Constitution would be inadequate for anyone but a moral and religious people. I don't think that the U.S. Constitution can work for an atheistic people because not only does it have premises that atheists would reject, but that some sacrifice is expected by a religious people that Objectivists would not agree with either.

    This is why I was looking for people to comment on what aspects of the Constitution would need to be rewritten. That would be an illustrative exercise.

    "a moral and religious people? We need a population that is moral and rational. I can see why someone back then who was not thinking quite deeply enough philosophically could have added "religious" to what he said, but that was a mistake.

    You truly are a treasure, Prof! I wish I could have persuaded my son to come study with you. Instead, he chose a leftist university and promptly got himself kicked out because he didn't do his homework. Now he's working for Amazon loading boxes. Hopefully, this 2x4 courtesy of Reality will help him revise his communist tendencies!

    Yes ... Precisely.
    It amazes me that these people who claim to be so brilliant are actually so incredibly stupid.

    Build back better isn't a bad slogan. It just is that they are destroying, rather than building, and "better" is better only for them.

    The "powers-that-be" had a 4-year setback so now they are working overtime to Build (Government) Back "better" (...or in this case "WORSE").

    Thanks JBrenner. This is a good start -- I really like your analogy of Covid being the Project X of our time.
    You asked for more:
    101. Objecting to the use of children as tools to advance the globalist agenda of Climate Change (Greta and her ilk).
    102. The full-spectrum bastardization of science (The Science [TM]) as it relates to Climate Change.
    103. The insistence on Reparations payments; which is really just vote buying and bureaucratic grifting.
    104. The media's over-the-top Gaslighting and our response "Let's Go Brandon!"
    105. The embrace and celebration of zeros (think congressman "AOC") - this person is a nobody with an opinion -- this nobody has been placed in a spotlight and has been given a microphone -- this is the embrace of the zero.
    106. The mathematical and economic absurdities of insisting that injecting trillions in helicopter money into the economy will cost nothing ... the very definition of inflation brazenly taking place along with its mathematically predictable consequences.
    107. The continued push for social engineering in terms of Covid mandates and compliance -- in full opposition to what we already know about the spread of the virus and the ineffectiveness (and harm) caused by the vaccines.
    108. The sham of "green energy" related to the implementation of solar and wind; which are intermittent, costly (afforded only through state subsidies), the process of creating and installing these "green solutions" does not address the CO2 generated during manufacture, the costs for recycling / disposal and reliance on traditional hot-standby power sources.
    109. The fraud of the MSM (NPR is the worst offender) in its continued use of the term "insurrection" when describing the Jan 6, 2021 staged event at the US Capitol.
    110. To the ever increasing theft of our land and property by government bureaucrats -- example: property taxes increasing 40% on my agricultural land in just one year (2020) to pay for one new line item "School district 400 - Enrichment" -- funds for school counselors, special ed and other staff having no relation to teaching children in the basics necessary for a self-sustaining and productive life.
    111. To further theft of our lands through enacting compliance laws along international lines -- example: roads must have no more than a 10% slope per IFC (International Fire Code) -- said slope restriction requires land owners to employ more of their property in switchbacks thus reducing the acreage for productive use (homes, farming, etc).
    112. To the destruction of Mathematics itself. Members of the MAA (Mathematics Association of America) insisting that math is racist (no links, a simple internet search will get you started).
    113. To the removal of standardized testing (think SATs) requirements for entry to college / university -- this is the destruction of objectivity.
    114. To the astronomical rise (as centrally orchestrated) of cryptocurrencies -- currencies predicated on nothing. These are the precursor to FedCoin -- just getting the population 'in the groove' of accepting cryptos and the UBI.
    115. To the notion that our current price increases are just "transitory" -- when many folks know better -- juice the economy with helicopter money and the result will necessarily be higher prices for everything.

    And the beat goes on and on and on...! And the sheeple will continue to allow it to grow out of ignorance and their own self-interest to be on the side where the power lies. Until it doesn't. The French Revolution should serve as a reminder of what eventually happens to despotic regimes and to those who support them. The hue and cry from the rational thinking will prevail at some point in the future. It is the way of things. God help us all.
    Outstanding list. Thank you.

    I heard my mother numerous times as I perused this lost of “to”s. Her philosophic response would have been, “Ai, yai, yai, yai, yai, yai…..”…a phrase from the old folk on the prairie signifying incredulity.

    34) To fraudulent mail-in ballots being counted when necessary, as evidenced in numerous states during the 2020 election and again in Bergen County, NJ during the NJ gubernatorial election this month; (Note: Voting rights originally only were granted to property owners. While I think that could no longer apply now, it is absolutely necessary to restrict voting to only those not receiving any government dollars. That will never happen.)

    The prior list was just a beginning:

    19) To the media's refusal to call BLM rioting the injustice that it is, rather than "social justice".

    20) To cases like those of Kyle Rittenhouse in Kenosha, Wisconsin defending property rights and his own life only to be called a murderer, a white supremacist, a vigilante, etc.. when the police don't (can't?) do their job. There are certainly differences between the case of Kyle Rittenhouse and Tony "The Wet Nurse", but neither was prepared for the onslaught of a mob like Francisco D'Anconia (i.e. Frank Adams).

    21) To the corruption of the Biden crime family (I know it more than most because I got to vote against him when he was running for his third Senate term.);

    22) To Dominion Voting Systems;

    23) To the real story behind "Russian collusion" and the "Steele dossier";

    24) To illegal immigrants being flown across the country in the middle of the night to ultimately create new Democratic voters;

    25) To the requirement that all transactions > $10 K (and soon $600) be tracked by government and Federal Reserve looters;

    26) To the massive surveillance state that would make a Galt's Gulch impossible nowadays anywhere in the world;

    27) To how Mark Zuckerberg corrupted the election process by financing not those being elected but rather to oversee the election process;

    28) To how 27) above and the media's constant mis-portrayal of reality (particularly through "polling") distorts reality sufficiently to make a new reality; For example, the New York Times' motto of "All the news that is fit to print" really means "All the news that furthers our agenda and only our agenda".

    29) To how every single Constitutional clause and right under The Bill of Rights is under constant assault;

    30) YouTube is removing the dislike count on all videos across its platform;
    https://techcrunch.com/2021/11/10/you...
    https://www.galtsgulchonline.com/post...

    31) To the number of athletes dying from the vaccine
    https://www.brighteon.com/ce7f2764-67...
    https://www.galtsgulchonline.com/post...

    32) To "I can't breathe" applying to all of us now that we have to wear masks as much as we do, rather than just to applying to BLM in response to the Minneapolis police abuse case;

    33) To the likelihood that many people will get cancer from inhaling cotton fibers from such masks, but will get no compensation for that whatsoever (Note: I grew up a few miles from Manville, NJ where asbestos was manufactured);

    More to come ...

    I could tell a very long story about how the tenure system corrupts the university system. I have told (in other threads) another long story about how the Kern Family Foundation (founders of Generac) have, through their financing of universities who seek to use the 3C's of curiosity, (intellectual) connections, and creating value to not only make better future engineers, but simultaneously get a massive multiplier for their own business. What appears to many on their part to be altruism isn't altruism at all; it is/was a massive investment that has at least tripled the value of their company.

    Even though indeed I did build that. While I teach numerous classes, my new Basics of Making course teaches both the science/engineering side AND the philosophical side of invention in a way that Ayn Rand would have appreciated ... with no government dollars.
