OHHHH... lol...yeah...well... it's getting packed. Whether or not that gets revealed...depends. I thought she was implying that I was lying ABOUT the sleep over book club meeting... lol
You're spot on!! How can they know what real success and real accomplishment mean if they never experience the failure first? We would be living in the dark trying to roll square "wheels" without all of the failures that came before that aha moment?!
The problem is the liberals would have to leave the country as well. They do not like American exceptional-ism or the values that would give it to any people.
I think it goes beyond the schools. it starts with things like little league where everyone gets a ribbon even the team that placed last. Or swimming (something my kids compete in every summer) where you get a ribbon for taking 16th place out of 16.
My younger daughter was just going through the motions and kept getting last place. We start them in swimming at 6 and at 8 she brought me yet another last place ribbon. I said "who ho, you got a ribbon for failing." She cried all the way home and my wife was very unhappy with me. I was not sure I had done the right thing after a berating from my wife, but still stood my ground with both here and my daughter. It was hard to break her heart like that.
An amazing thing happened at the next meet, she took 3rd to the last. By the end of the season she was placing 2nd and 3rd in her group.
Kids and people naturally want to achieve, but we hide what failure is and by so doing hide what achievement is. She was capable but all ready thought she was achieving.
Many parents, even ones I think generally get the idea of freedom, fall into the trap of not wanting see there child go through the tough times. The ruff stuff that you usually work through before you start to achieve. We try to bypass it for them and by so doing damage them in ways that we cannot imagine..
Dennis miller did a very funny piece in a stand up act about the 72 virgins. It's from 2002 I believe. Basically he said after the first 6 or so, you're looking for a pro who will do many other things to you, which I won't mention here.
I don't care for dave chappelles humor not any Halloween movie. I do like you tube and of course david bowie. we are making a distinction between Muslims and those practicing Islam. Islam ignores natural rights and practices things I find reprehensible and not allowed by our Constitution and so therefore criminal in our country. but that is not the POINT of this post. The point is it's ridiculous to assume that the largest burger chain in the world is going to meet religious dietary needs. a fish sandwich is on the menu ALL the time. besides, the two who initiated the lawsuit were POed because MCDonald's wouldn't hire them. DUE TO HEALTH CODE reasons. they wanted to wear their religious appropriate garb and long sleeves aren't allowed in the kitchen
