It's the slaughtering of animals Islamic style: Slow and with much suffering of the animal. Specifically, for cows, the boys are taught how to slit the throats of the animal, going very slowly through the throat, but stopping just shy of the spinal cord. By doing this, it's considered acceptable "halal" for a muslim to eat.
At regular, "American" slaughterhouses, death comes by quickly so as to facilitate the process for getting the various meat products out of the slaughterhouse and into the stores as efficiently as possible.
To recap: American slaughterhouses want the animal to die quickly so as to get on with business of offering meat to consumers.
Islamic slaughterhouses are preoccupied with suffering and death so that the muslim who eats the meat can smile (evil grin) with satisfaction knowing the animal took a long time to die while the young muslim boys looked on, watching the suffering with joy.
Take the time to honestly look at Islam is and it's founder. Educate yourself and have the courage to accept the truth, no matter how disturbing it may be. Only then, will you be able to defend yourself from Al-Taqqiya (obligatory lying to kaffirs) and begin fighting back.
The innards are great for fertilizer in the field, for several months you can tell where a beef was killed in the field, the pasture grasses are about twice as tall and a much deeper green. It saves the butcher the expense of disposing of the materials and makes my pasture healthier. It also cuts out a lot of time for both of us.
If something happened and I had to do it the Muslim way I would sell my cattle, my property and then find another side business to build up. I do not understand how anyone could intentionally make it any slower or more painful than needed to kill what you want to eat.
On a side note, 5 years ago I was skiing out at The Canyons in Park City, with 3 of my girl friends. We were followed from a grocery store parking lot to the condo where we were staying, by two young lds "Elders". They tried their very best to get us to listen, but when the cork came out of the wine bottle, they accepted defeat. It was a bit freaky, seeing that they followed us, and I was wishing I had had something besides a bag of apples to defend myself with!
As I have said before on here I am LDS (mormon) and I have traveled quite a bit for work. Back when I was doing consulting work for WordPefect (yes, that was a long time ago) I went on site to a client in Vancouver BC. As was often the case (Being a Mormon from Utah) once they felt a little comfortable the subject of Polygamy came up.
I had developed a habit of going along with it and acting like (with some sarcasm) I had more than one wife and was in the market to find another. Peoples reactions were always kinda funny, and then as the discussion expanded they could tell I was joking around with them and not serious at all. I would then tell them Mormons do not do polygamy and have not for a couple of generations.
Well in this instance there was a Muslim in the group and he must have gone into deep thought and missed the last part of the conversation where i explained, "one wife, do not want more" to them.
Later at lunch he pulled me a aside and asked if I had any advice on how to get US women to participate in Polygamy because he really wanted more than one wife. He worded it "How do you get multiple women to submit to you?"
Can you say uncomfortable moment. That was the last time I ever made a joke of Polygamy when it came up.
The point is this was a guy in the US, a US citizen who was wanting to bring his Muslim ways here. It was not just about having more than one wife, which was what he acted like it was about, his wording had confirmed to me that it was about domination and power.
I have never been able to come to terms with the Muslim faith since that encounter. I read the Koran and it just did not click. I mean I can look at most religions and get where it came from and what it was trying to achieve but Muslim's I cant understand, its a totally different perspective.
I find one wife a handful. Two would surely be the death of me!

I do know that once I explained myself to him (again) he felt very sheepish and apologized to me multiple times per day for the next three days until I flew back home. Each apology was simply another uncomfortable moment.

A couple of the essays published there give some great points that you can then study from. I would also recommend watching the history channels "The Men who built America" which can be purchased on iTunes. I recommend watching this only after you read the book. They do make some of the great men out to be the wrong doers in some cases and the book will help to keep your point of view in the right place when watching the show.
Its the time when America's freedom and social structure is really taking off, and its also the time when we started to pass laws that infringed on the rights of people to work and run a business, or whatever else they wanted to do. Many things that should still be legal were done to great advantage for the businessmen but today would be illegal based on anti-trust law. Well likely be illegal.
Anyway a good read and a good watch if your interested.
My younger daughter was just going through the motions and kept getting last place. We start them in swimming at 6 and at 8 she brought me yet another last place ribbon. I said "who ho, you got a ribbon for failing." She cried all the way home and my wife was very unhappy with me. I was not sure I had done the right thing after a berating from my wife, but still stood my ground with both here and my daughter. It was hard to break her heart like that.
An amazing thing happened at the next meet, she took 3rd to the last. By the end of the season she was placing 2nd and 3rd in her group.
Kids and people naturally want to achieve, but we hide what failure is and by so doing hide what achievement is. She was capable but all ready thought she was achieving.
Many parents, even ones I think generally get the idea of freedom, fall into the trap of not wanting see there child go through the tough times. The ruff stuff that you usually work through before you start to achieve. We try to bypass it for them and by so doing damage them in ways that we cannot imagine..

After reading the Qu'ran, the Hadith's and the Suna, you must ACCEPT WHAT YOU READ AS THE TRUTH. There are many disgusting stories about their founder and what he did as written in the books I mentioned. I will not list them here. It may take some time but you must accept it before you can reach out to your community.
4) Get familiar with the usual denial/apologetic tactics of the Left, the Dhimmi, and the Politically Correct. Here's an example:
They always say in response to any suicide bombing, head-cutting, etc with 'Well, they were practicing an extreme form of Islam' OR 'They read something in the Koran and took it out of context.'...
My response is this: Extreme form of Islam? Ok, that implies you know there must be other forms of Islam, sort of like Christianity, e.g., Methodists, Catholic, Baptist, etc right? WRONG.
There is no "extreme form" of Islam. There is no "moderate" or Islam-lite version that muslims can selectively use/accept or choose not to practice if they happen to disagree with it. Got it?
Islam is extreme, if you follow anything else (or nothing at all) other than Islam. It all boils down to this:
Who was the "Perfect" muslim? Mohammed. Did Mohammed authorize his followers the FREEDOM to choose what they could accept and follow from what he preached? HELL NO.
It states very clearly in the Qu'ran what happens to followers if they choose to ignore or question what Mohammed said or did. Ultimately, if you disagree and will not "submit" you will face DEATH.
Is this something we in America really want our grand-children to experience? Really? Is this something you believe can be tolerated? If so, you need to start reading The Generous Qu'ran now. Once you understand what is demanded by all muslims to do, you'll most likely will have a change of mind.
Oh, if you can point out a "moderate" muslim and show me in the Koran where and what verses are considered "moderate" and the authorization by Mohammed that it's allowed, I will believe the "moderate muslim" has a chance to change Islam. Until then, Islam will never change.

There is this guy who examined the Koran from a mathematical point of view. And he broke down the Koran into several categories, among them: How much of the Koran is about Allah? How much of the Koran is about Mohummad? How much is about war? How much is about the Kaffir or unbeliever, etc. You'd be surprised to know the answers. Here's a few spoilers: only 11% of the Koran speaks about Allah. (My best recollection here) About 68% of the Koran is about the Unbeliever, and what the muslim is to do with them in the battlefield, in muslim territory, everywhere. I don't know about you, but Islam doesn't appear to have much to do with "religion" does it?
Remember, anyone who disagrees with what Mohammed said or did is to be punished by death. Here's a couple of 'gotch-ya's in which we can clearly see Mohammed is wrong. Ready? Can you handle the truth?

It's never really explained why 72 virgins. Why not 70? or 100? Also, as you keep reading in the Koran, you'll discover that there really isn't anything in it for women. Everybody knows what happens when MEN blow themselves up. But what happens if a muslim woman does the same thing? Does she get 72 virgin men?
Also, after you've 'de-flowered' the virgins, do they miraculously become virgins again? Thus forgetting that you have already been with them? These are questions that are NOT answered in any of the 3 islamic books: the koran, the hadith's and the sunna. It's not answered in the Sharia Law book, The Reliance of the Traveller either.
BTW, yesterday I said "The Sura", I meant to say "SUNNA". Sura is the actual verse in the Koran. The sunna is what mohammed practiced, & therefore, what all muslims must do. Sorry for any confusion.

You're free to advertise and sell an ethnic or culture-specific dish with unusual preparation requirements if you think there is demand for it, and if you advertise it as such, you have to follow through with the requirements, whether they make sense from a food-preparation perspective or not.
How do they get away with this? I'll tell you how: they target our politicians. Not just at the National Level, but at the State and local level. They also target our police departments as well, inviting them to jumma prayers (Google Oklahoma Capt faces disciplinary action for refusing to attend Islamic event).
Why would they do this? TO GET THEM ON THEIR SIDE. Imagine confronting them after they've been exposed to their propaganda (yes, that's exactly what it is) and now you, the latecomer, armed with the truth comes and tells them about Islam that's completely different than what the muslims told them. Suddenly, you look like an Islamophobe, a hater and intolerant of their views doesn't it?
THIS IS HOW THEY ARE WINNING AND HAVE BEEN WINNING. The key to beating them is to inform our local officials BEFORE the muslims do. YOU can do this, not the muslim.

Say you are a restaurant owner.
Say you realize a bunch of Muslims live in your area, and there really aren't many places for them to eat.
Say you add an option to your menu for them.
Say you make a profit.
Say you don't hold up your end of the deal.
Say your customers are angry.
You get sued.

McDonald's is responsible for serving food that wasn't prepared as advertised. In this case, the preparation is deeply religious, and therefore important to the customer.
McDonald's didn't do it right, possibly with negligence, or intentionally.
The original poster for this board sounds rather anti-Islam, and this news story is about a restaurant's mistake. Get your priorities straight.
I actually didn't say McDonald's WAS anti-Islam. I agreed that they tried to cater to them. I just said they they should do it correctly.

So because McDonald's hires 15 year olds, they should be held to different standards than other restaurants? McDonald's should get special treatment? And it wasn't for a one-time thing, the 700k was for years of possible wrongful preparation. Did you read the news article? The 'unrelated organization' is involved because it would be impossible to actually contact all the people who ate at the restaurant in those few years, so they decided the money would better benefit an organization that actually works with this group of people.
no rational individual can suggest that the failure to pray over a piece of meat resulted in ANY economic damages. there is no objective way of measuring and coroll ting any distress by said Muslims. The POINT of the story was about how irrational our society has become. and YES Islam is irrational
Museums are not a just a place for exhibits, you know. They are places of education and large ones often DO provide services to the community. And please, 'economic damages', well firstly all of the people who didn't get what they ordered should be refunded, but you know good and well that all the time in our court systems there doesn't need to be economic damages for a financial settlement. I think it is perfectly rational for a class action lawsuit to be brought against a restaurant who is falsely advertising their products. And your comment about Islam being irrational is unwarranted. This article has nothing to do with Islam, just a set of customers who have a dietary restriction.

Actually it IS a good business idea. McDonald's saw a huge untapped market, so they created menu options so they could actually reach this new market. They just did their jobs poorly. The Muslim community here are nothing but innocent consumers.
have you read Ayn Rand?? give me proof they did something wrong. everyone is an innocent consumer. mentally disabled perhaps. I am an informed consumer. when I buy I measure risks. I assess the probability of performance. I do not initiate lawsuits for frivilous reasons. and yes, food prep for religious reasons at a restaurant which is a CHAIN-give me a break

Resisting integration? If you moved to Pakistan for work, wouldn't you just crave an American cheeseburger from time to time? Would you convert to Islam since that is where you would be living, so you should integrate? People are allowed to have their differences. Diversity is what makes America such a great place.

Fine, personally, I do not have proof. But guess what, it doesn't really matter because no one accepted blame, hence the settlement.
And yes I correctly choose the term "dietary restrictions". During Catholic lent, Arby's always has a temporary fish sandwich for people who give up red meat during that time. That is obviously considered a dietary restriction as well. Just because something won't physically kill you doesn't mean it isn't a restriction.
You measure risk? So what type of restaurant do you think SHOULD be sued if this had happened there? Denny's is higher upscale than McDonald's. How about Ruby Tuesday? Longhorn Steakhouse? Fleming's Steakhouse? If this had happened there, which one of those should be sued? I'm sure you would trust the latter over the former.
How informed are you about where the products in Walmart, Target, etc. come from? If you have ever purchased anything from those stores (or really any large store) you are indirectly supporting child labor and sweatshops in third world countries. Those people have no choice but to do their work in those horrible conditions, with no individuality. I don't think Rand would approve.
Yes, I have read many of Rand's works, and I like her a lot. We disagree on some issues, but I think she is a talented writer. Her philosophies work well as exemplified in fiction, but her non-fiction isn't as well thought out, especially when people attempt to apply her moral philosophy to political and economic philosophies.
But yeah, you should absolutely protest Arby's during lent.
