Of course the college students are totally uninformed. The professors are all liberals and that translates into filling the minds of these youngsters with tripe! Hopefully this too shall pass!
College students are not uninformed. They are ill informed by their leftist professors. They are not taught how to formulat ideas and arguments. They are taught how to be good liberals and socialists. They are taught to reject any idea that conficts with the ideas and thought planted by the leftists on campus.
John Gatto: Dumbing Us Down Mr Gatto died late last year. His authorship describes what I saw my father do for more than 35 years in the classroom. An understanding of how these kids ended up with the lack of knowledge we assume is tragic.
Hey babe! Have you taken a look at 'Common Core?' This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. If the computers go out, these kids will be desperate!
Well, the usual attitudes of statists. But maybe these were more open because they were young. Older people would be sneakier, and counter with more verbiage, to give excuses for their ideology (or idiotology). It amounted to "Give me what I want because I want it, give me my way, give me my way." In 2009, my younger brother told me health care was a right, and I said, "No it's not! Nothing is a right except the right to be left alone." In Galt's speech in Atlas Shrugged, Ayn Rand wrote, [this is a memory quote, excuse any mistake in the words] "And that is the whole of their shabby secret. The purpose for which they...destroy ...lives, is to erect on their altar their holy absolute: their Wish."
It's not just College students. It is pretty much everybody that no longer understand and support the stupidity. We are fast becoming a lone voice in the wilderness.
My favorite was the one "I don't have to answer your questions" right after asking why anyone else should care. What a triggered snowflake! Seriously, the only one of these people who had an ounce of conviction (even though he didn't have a clue what he was talking about) was the last guy in blue.
If this is the common state of college students today, I mourn for the aborted future of this nation.
Watters (of "Watters World fame) used to conduct street interviews with all comers. It was an eye opener.
In one occasion he was questioning college students. They had absolutely no knowledge of the most elementary facts of history, let alone literature or other disciplines. Were unable to name Government branches even.
They are not in college to learn critical thinking but to "identify". E.g., to know which toilet they need to go. They also know they don't want to be while males even if they are. Must be a miserable existence.
College today is mostly useless. Even when I attended high school in the early 60’s. , history wasn’t taught accurately. I had to wait for the hitler channel and Netflix to even start to understand it
I had a huge book, written in 1919, entitled "The Great War" that I used as a reference for a term paper in my high school history class. Not wanting to do the usual Western Front discussion, I wrote a condensed history of the conflict between the Japanese and Germans from 1914-1918. My history teacher privately admitted to me that he was not aware the Japanese were our allies in WW I, and almost gave me an F (for fiction, as he put it) until he decided to do some research. Thanks to his evenhanded approach, my paper got an A, and a reading to the rest of the class so they might be as equally informed.
Me dino recalls a college student who did the USA fight during World War Two. His response intoned a question when he replied, "China?" With all the war movies on TV, that blew my mind. And me dino knows there are video games with World War Two themes.

I think Reagan once said...."it is not that they know nothing, it is that what they know....is wrong"
Please excuse me if I didn't exactly get the quote correct.

Unfortunately, me dino thinks that time will take a very long, long while.

Entitlement and collectivism are the cornerstone sof current philosophical ideas taught today
