You know you live in a Country run by idiots if...

Hard work and success are rewarded with higher taxes and Government intrusion, while slothful, lazy behavior is rewarded with EBT cards, WIC checks, Medicaid and subsidized housing, and free cell phones.

It's shameful. So how are the successful people to continue to be successful, if all they get is a big pile of steaming poo heaped on them?!?! And have to pay for the privilege?!

What you just said is a one of the links between the mass shooters of late....I may steal some stuff I just read on my husbands gun forum where they are discussing this topic.....(Sorry this is totally off topic to what you're talking about... but it popped out at me.)

It's so true. There used to be a culture of mentoring, so that when a person graduated, or even during college, they were guided by someone who had experience, and knowledge to share. Now, forget it. You graduate, get stuck in a cubicle, churn out things that shouldn't leave the door, and expect to be paid a salary that is not commensurate with the job being performed.

Kids have some very skewed, grandiose ideas that they are all that. It comes from never losing in baseball, because their feelings might get hurt, awwww. I'm glad that isn't done here! If you lost, it meant you had to try harder and practice more. End of story. Just because a person exists, doesn't mean they are entitled to something not earned. That bugs me.

I was good!;-). I did get my pistol certification yesterday. I also took the Utah licensing class. It will get my Utah permit before CT, no doubt.

But back to the game, I've been thinking about that, too. It is difficult in the linear. I don't want to drop the ball. And if a profit can be turned, all the better. But I also hear you regarding any sort of small business, or entrepreneurial venture. It's almost certifiably insane to do so in the climate here. We have many friends who, regrettably, have had to let people go because of healthcare costs, taxes, etc., which then places them in the untenable position of not being able to keep up with work. It's a terrible catch 22! Why would anyone want to try? But that's it in a nutshell. Keep people on the govt teat, squash any spirit of pride of ownership, and have a dumbed downed population of drones!

Btw, Orion has been spectacular lately, and the Pleiades! Gorgeous!

Aliens? The other night I was here with the kids and we heard about a dozen shots fired. No sirens, and no crazy headlines the next day. It was kind of freaky. I made sure the larm in the house was set, though.

It's reflecting off of the snow. I haven't had a bit o' white lightning in a very long time. There was a place in DC called the Brickskeller. They had a beer menu listed alphabetically by country, as well as an entire section dedicated to cocktails made with beer. Before it was illegal, there was a drink made with grain and beer, and some other thing in there. It was called an Orbit and go Naked. One was sufficient. Of course, when grain became illegal, they had to come up with something new. It was now made with gin, and it was called a Skip and go Naked. I did try them, but not being a gin person, well, it was really gross!

I really did hear an explosion right then...(maybe "explosion" was a tad over selling), but I expected to hear sirens soon after but there weren't any. It's a mystery. It was like a loud backfire that rattled our windows..but I didn't hear any kind of vehicle before or right after either... I wasn't about to go out looking....lol
