I spent two summers in AK as office help in a cannery and cold storage (SE AK) and loved it. The winter storms are brutal, though the summers are great and the food grows like weeds. One thing I really liked was the subsistence hunting, trapping and fishing for residents. Lots of little islands accessible only by boat or float plane...

Today I picked up the sample ballot for the GOP primary in my county.
Once I identify who is running against the GOPe, I will register and vote for those people.

I've lived in Wyoming for half my life (36 years) and it is not so much going left as still being controlled by about four families of four or five generations. The "ol' boys" network. Current Gov (Matt Mead) is interested, IMHO, in a Federal job after gov and pretty much caters to the Feds..

GOP primary is tomorrow and we have Taylor Hayes competing with Mead. http://www.haynesforgovernor.com/ Taylor got 16% of the vote as a write-in last Gov election, four years ago. If he gets in, Wyoming will get a lot more free of Fed bullshit and in a hurry. Wish us luck tomorrow!!
