This past Saturday (Dec 8) there was a rally in Rome, led by Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini. Salvini is a member of the Lega Nord party, which formed the current, coalition govt together with 5 Star Movement. You may remember that POTUS tweeted after the election that “Italy got it right!”
I was not at the rally, which apparently was a great success—but I just found out that at the very end, they sang an aria from Puccini’s opera “Turandot,” called “Nessun Dorma.”
In Italian, “nessun dorma” means “nobody is sleeping.” In other words…everyone is awake. Had to share with you frens, here’s the full rally but the music starts right about 1:56:00 just a couple of minutes. It is a dramatic song of triumph:
