Don't they get that they will be taxed too?..oh, that's right, they get their ill gotten gains under the table...
It's so easy to do with other people's money. Just like most spending programs, people would stop and think if they had to pay immediately and even more so if it were their money. "275 billion is just 1.5% of our GDP. So if you earn $80k, that's just 50 bucks more out of each semimonthly paycheck. Just think of the children." People would stop and think about the math more.
The spirit of someone else paying for it reminds me of the spirit of the drug war or limiting gun rights, that the gov't is a powerful authority granting rights to and taking care of the people, like a strict but loving parent. That's so wrong and evil.
