I was born and raised in Chile. Salvador Allende was elected president. We owned a small manufacturing business that started 30 years before by my father in law. We had the huge amount of 7 (seven)
workers. Even so, they belonged to THE union. Because we had already been "told" by the wood manufacturing union and their delegate that worked for us, that as Allende came to power, all we needed to do was being "good boys" and we would be "safe".
To make a long story short, two weeks after the election we were on a plane, coming to the US where my husband had worked before and were we would be able to make a living right away.
And now I'm in such shock that the same thing is happening to the best country that has ever existed in the world. It is very, very sad.
