I think the liberals need us to be slaves for them to maintain their lifestyles. They arrange power over us to force us to work. So its the power that is the first priority. No power= no working the slaves. In this age of the NSA, martial law would be easy to get away with.
Doesn't mean it's not BS, nor that it's too much to overcome, or worse then it's ever been. It's bad, there's no denying that, but the pendulum swings in long arcs. More to the point though I think is that this current polarization I think is rather temporary. It's superficial and will disappear as soon as the heard is distracted by something else.

Prepping I see no harm in prepping for all scenarios within reason. I'm not going to blow a lot money on it, but some preps even save money, some are cheap enough. What's insurance but throwing money at a prep, I don't do that.
The thing with an EMP is that it could be blamed on anyone and work. An EMP would put is in the dark both literally and figuratively. It would do so without harming much government infrastructure. They could then impose national martial law and we'd be unable to organize against it. From there simply tell us the story they want to tell us. For example right wing extremists invaded an ICBM site and did it. But now they have a year or two of near total control with minimal resistance. They can take over what internet is left and completely control information. They can use the resulting martial law and chaos to disarm us. They can eliminate the US Constitution and as it would also effect Canada join us in one government. All with minimal deaths and a rather small hit to infrastructure and the economy. It's the perfect way to take over the US in a short time frame.
Why would they want to crash our economy that hard? I can see them doing it to get more power as in 2008, I can see them doing it to prevent Trumps re-election. But beyond that they need us working, they need us asleep, harm us too much and they lose that control.
I dont think in general people are ready to fight and kill each other in the USA, so I agree that the violence is spotty and not to be concerned about.
Obama's win was a PC thing- showing that we arent "racist" (whatever that means in this day and age of multiracial progeny). The election of Obama was done out of some sort of misguided guilt over slavery. I dont have any guilt, as I never had slaves and didnt bring anyone's grandaddy over here "tight pack". I resent the entitlement philosophy furthered by PC and Obama that the blacks adopted. I also see underground anger towards blacks becaue of it. Obama did them a disservice and set their cause back a lot.
I never used to hear "nigger" in the west years ago. Now I hear it all the time among people when they think its hidden from popular view.
Preparing for me is more in terms of dealing with economic collapse, inflation, and government than leftist loonies. No country is going to send over nuclear bombs and risk a surefire and devastating retailiatory attack- UNLESS they are sure they can destroy the whole USA with a series of EMP's or simultaneous nuclear attacks (Like in the SURVIVALIST SERIES of books, or the TV series JERICHO ).
Most likely its going to be a huge banking or currency crisis that causes massive unemployment and loss of the paper wealth that we thought we had.
Maybe it will be china that triggers it once they get strong enough to rule the world (which they want to do)
Yeah Obama's win was a blow, I never thought we'd re-elect him, or did we really. And yes the trend in the long term is going in the wrong direction.
I think things are turning, there's a real grass roots libertarian thing going on, look at how popular Jordan Peterson is. People are watching his 2 hour talks, that's amazing.
Doesn't mean I ain't prepared though, no reason to think the lefties won't panic and do something stupid, and maybe even drastic. For example crash the economy in the hopes it'll cause Trump to lose. More and more false flag operations, in particular I'm concerned about an EMP false flag.
So I got my beans, bullets, and band aids, and so should you. Don't mean I'm moving into a bunker in the woods, or Belize, or whatever though.
