Life in California
I have vented in the past here on life in the left state. This weekend was another example. For starters, we've had nothing but smoky skies for weeks. I can't remember the last time we had blue sky. I was out doing yard work on Saturday and realized it was snowing (while 100 degrees). It was ash, and it continues to fall in waves here. Then, while getting my haircut at a little establishment by my house I noticed that sirens kept going by for about 30 minutes straight. I left to run an errand and found a local intersection blocked off. The cops were chasing a "person of interest" in a car chase and the guy lost control at high speed, flew right through an apartment living room wall, hit two kids and set the entire building ablaze. It was a tremendous mess. I understand, somehow, the kids survived the initial blow - and went to the hospital just before I came on the scene. Anymore around here I find myself just standing there, shaking my head, and going, "another day in Cali..."
He move out to Arizona shortly after that saying twice was enough and didn't want to see what happened on a third fire.
Once a year the sheriff sends a postcard, instructing me dino to send in my year-old permit and a small fee so I'll be mailed a new permit.
This year I sent the fee with the postcard but forgot to send in my old permit.
They sent me a new permit anyways.
By the way, I've seen people at the range who can't worth a flip and with their own bought and paid for guns.
At least they are trying to learn.
