The political machine in Chicago and Illinois in general is corrupt and has been for decades if not at least a century. I say, let it rot like Detroit and many other liberal Democratic cities. Detroit used to be a Gem, a beautiful city with low crime and low unemployment. Then liberal Democrats took over and we have the greatest blowup of a city since Vesuvius took out Pompeii. I had relatives that used to live in Chicago. I am old enough that most of my relatives have passed away or got sense and moved many years ago. If I go that way, I do everything I can to avoid going through Chicago. I have a friend that lives close by but he travels a lot for his job and is not there very often. I keep telling him to get out of there but his kids are there and he stays and keeps paying into the political machine.

Best advice I have heard yet! I just look at who is doing the killing and who is getting killed and I can't get too excited about any of it. There are sections in just about every city or large town that we all should just stay away from for all the same reasons.

Hmmmm, maybe the Democrats that are in charge of the city can contact Nancy Pelosi to cut a deal with MS-13 to come in and clean up the place. Oh wait...

I have to laugh when Democrat politicians claim the problem is all the surrounding states that have fewer gun control laws. When I ask them why those more liberated states don't have higher crime rates, all I hear is crickets.

Agree that the violence shouldn't be tolerated. Disagree that Trump should offer federal money or assets. What he should offer is a change in leadership. Chicago has been a Democrat stronghold of corruption since its founding. The only way that city is going to improve is if they adopt real morals and oust the Democrats for good - and that's not going to happen in the near future.

One might think they are engineering a disaster to force the Feds to give them a boatload of money to fix "the human suffering", which is all their own fault. Transferring money from successful people in other states who have succeeded because they are not living in a failed socialist city is nothing but S-T-U-P-I-D. Just what I would expect from a looter. Big government will not solve Chicago's problems. Only Chicago can solve them, and to do so they must give up socialism and destroy the political machine. That will not happen without a revolution or a collapse of the city.
Trump should try to make sure that not a dime is wasted on socialist federal programs doomed to fail in Chicago. The sooner the city collapses the better. They are doing everything they can to destroy themselves; let them.
