    The horrors of WW2 have been kept alive with the "Never again" motto. But it should not be only Jews but a representation of all humanity.As to your friend's attitude, I could write a book about it, but I would need a psychologist and a thriller writer to aid me. Some day I might send the my theory to you privately.

    I have one lifelong true and trusted friend who happens to be my wife , but it is important to recognize the true character of an individual .The sooner the better I have learned as I have aged.
    I became "tight" with my currency of time so to speak. i have been fortunate to land in this gulch and have many more valued friendships from it.

    I too have lost friends over asking seemingly basic questions and yet the response is pure hatred for unfathomable reasons or motivations.

    When in high school a friend for a few years already, revealed that he was Jewish to me when he repeatedly said "I christianed him down". When he spoke of buying something.
    We never really talked about religion. During the Clinton years We had been friends for twenty five yrs. I asked him how so many Jews could support the left. He explained to me that I was anti-Semitic. I learned how the left manipulate with emotional outbursts. I had never had any negative feelings about Jewish folks only sadness about the horrors of WWII he certainly should have known that.
    I think he preferred to be a victim rather than a victor.

    It's just me and the marine gunnery sergeant who lives across the street. He couldn't understand why Jews were so liberal after all the crap they've been through with leftist regimes. I guess he expected me to give him an answer. I, however, am just as dumbfounded as he is.

    Am I imagining something or are we getting a bit off topic? When the great influx of immigrants came to the USA they came from eastern Europe Russia, Poland, Germany and France. They hated being called "Greenhorns" and they tried their best to become Americanized.Here's another Grandpa tale:Once the ship docked, loved ones came aboard, welcoming relatives that they had't seen in years. Along with them came hustlers and scammers. Many of the immigrants wore hats made from vermin, called ermine and mink. They were the "karakul" hats shaped long and narrow with ear flaps that kept your head warm as toast. The hustler had cloth caps tied to a pole and a sales pitch. "Don't come to America looking like foreigners. Trade in your old ratty European hats for these brand new American hats and look like you're an a American." Many of them traded in their "greenhorn" hats for cheaper American caps. The hat salesman, even though no money changed hands usually made around $25 per ship and on a good day 2 or 3 ships docked. Remember that the dollar was worth around 10X what it is worth today.
