I'm very happy to have landed in the Gulch...do they have a Galts Gulch in the United States? I heard that there is / was one in South America.

Welcome Jack Jenge! I think I read that the South American development ran into financial difficulty. In reality it is an aspiration, like the characters who inhabit the Gulch in the novel, they are what could be, what is possible.
