In every cultural background there are sayings that we are familiar with.Some are rarer than others. Some, we grew up with and are as familiar as your mother's voice calling on the phone, at the most inconvenient time.In the following, I have put together some of both kinds. Running down the actual authors are often a chore and often a surprise. Most of the following have been translated from the Hebrew and in some cases Yiddish.How many of your background can you present to us? Sometimes the authors of the following are surprising.
