What's Driving Me to the Gulch

I actually won't talk about specifics, not even here. But, I'll give you a hint. See a story from this weekend about the 12-year old boy who died after testing negative from the flu. I have seen so many families suffer unmentioned agony over events just like this - affecting children from infants to a close friend's child who was 16. And...I've come to learn that it's preventable. But, as a society, we are choosing to not prevent it. I work in the medical industry and have seen related, terrifying lapses in medical ethics. I decided to not try to interfere with the machine, just get out of the way and spend my time where I don't have to see the stories of the destruction.

Do you have a link to that story?
I work at the first Hospice Hospital in America. Brandford Connecticut. Although I am building engineer, (fixin what breaks and trying to keep things running), I see a Lot of unnecessary death but aside from bad medical practices, propaganda, bad or a lack of education...I don't see "society" as a whole "choosing" to not prevent these occurrences.
I do see, however, a machine, as you put it, that is culpable, corrupt, misguided and generally does not care about people...this is the paradigm your average, nurse, doctor, specialist is unknowingly caught up in.

I abstain from allopathic medicine and practice natural medicine. I live a life style that empowers my immune system.
I haven't had so much as a cold in over 25 years now.

So far, I am just old, ugly, have some allergies but at least I am not sick and can do most anything I need to do physically where more and more people my age or younger are dying needlessly.

I can see where those things would "drive" you to a venue of reasonable discussions by folks with eyes wide open in one crazy world.
