An assignment I give my students in almost every course I teach is what I call a questions and issues sheet. Students are asked to come up with a list of at least 25 questions and issues on a process design, product design, or failure analysis of my choosing. Students start by brainstorming either by themselves or in groups for 0.5 to 1 hour, and then categorize their questions and issues into the following categories: technical/engineering, economic, legal, regulatory, quality, environmental, safety, health, logistical, project management, and social impact. It is better for the questions and issues to be in the form of a question such that the question can be answered with a yes/no or a number. In that way, the exercise serves as a checklist to keep the project on track. Points are given for the number of questions, category coverage, identification of all of the key issues, depth of insight, creativity, and for thoroughness of the list. A critical issue not considered is often the project killer. Your assignment is to participate in this exercise for the development of a physical Atlantis.

Budgets are going to be stretched very thin for the Atlantis project unless we have a real Midas Mulligan. I refuse to treat other people's money as other people's money (as opposed to my own).

Thank you, J. I've been all over the state, without going into a copious amount of detail, FSU and UF for various stints of grad and undergrad, and FAMU for law.

That's true. I think as long as the major costs are obtained at a reasonable rate - it shouldn't matter if an inconsequential "luxury" item is a tad more expensive.

I thought you were at UCF. I am glad you are now employed. I look forward to you going into business.

We won't be able to produce all things at a reasonable price. This will have to be weighed against discovery by outsiders.

Which one? I've been to several. I am employed now - but I think that once the bar exam is complete and I am licensed, I am going to go into business with a colleague.

Competitive advantage dictates that we should. It is possible that we won't be able to produce all things at a reasonable price.

You were looking for a job recently. Have you tried the Florida Solar Energy Center? It is affiliated with your university.

Do a Galt's Gulch search under constitution. This subject has been discussed fairly thoroughly.

    Oh Mimi,
Thanks a lot! :) If in a line up the proposition was put forward, "If you would like to volunteer please step forward." I would be the first to take a step back. LOL... I would like to think I have other ways to contribute, but on the other hand, I've paid my septic service guy handsomely every few years to come clean out my tanks...
    Regards,
    O.A.

I'm curious as to why this hasn't been examined in greater detail. As far as government goes, shouldn't we strive for one that has its main objective as protecting citizens from outside force or aggression between themselves?

This just reminds me of how infuriating it is that Florida has made off-the-grid living basically illegal. My wife and I are both huge advocates of solar living if it's a) not government subsidized, and b) of your own volition if you choose to power your home that way.

Reciting the oath is a big part of the welcoming committee responsibility. That's also part of the internal security plan.

    No excuse sir.

Actually, I can cut a mean cake - into 7-10 even pieces. And I can march with the best of them. Lol

    Sounds like an easy job:

Just repeat after me, "I - state your name - swear by my life and my love of it that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine."

It must be a football game against either Army or Air Force. I think it's the former.

Mostly pointless. If you want multiple layers, put on multiple layers. You can put on or remove one layer at a time. If you knit too heavy a garment (heavy wool, large needles) you'll get a garment good only for super-cold days. I have one a girlfriend knitted for me in college. I never wear it.

Still, there exists a technique called double knitting. Here it is: http://knitting.about.com/od/colorknitti...

The plan is for such raw materials and, in many cases, finished products to be brought in with arriving citizens.

There just isn't enough time to wait the decades necessary to reverse the sinking ship (No Longer) United States? of America (still true after the recent invasion?). America has condemned itself into the trash heap of history.
