As The Mayan Calendar Apocalypse steaming pile of nonsense bites the dust, I thought it would be fun to list some of the other steadfast assurances of impending doom which we were harangued about and which just never seemed to materialize.

Suggested rules for this thread:
Only one Apocalypse per response.
That way we can have a dedicated thread for each Apocalypse!

I've already thought of 5, right off the bat, but I'll let everyone else chime in.

    Harold Camping's rapture (May 2011 on first try, Oct 2011 on second, 'humbled' after that).

    Hive Collapse Disorder is when a beehive dies for no discernible reason.
    No bees = no crop pollination.
    No crop pollination = no food.

    This phenomenon was noticed in the mid 2000's.
    And while it is worrisome, it looks like it's cyclical.
