The left uses Vegas Massacre for political agenda.

These were Americans killed and wounded by a psychopathic killer, the victims could have been anyone's son or daughter or mom or dad. A totally random mass murder. Less than 24 hrs after a nightmare shooting in Vegas the liberals show their sensitivity and inclusiveness. Just like any recent tragedy The swamp at its very worst are trying to profit politically from bloodshed and devastation.

From Jeff Zelany CNN reporter
On breaking news that President Donald Trump
will visit Las Vegas he said Trump is visiting because the shooting victims were likely Trump supporters and because he has a hotel with his name blazing on top of his Hotel.

A CBS lawyer said On Facebook "I am actually not sympathetic . because country music fans often are Republican gun toters.......

Much more to come I am sure from these kind and gentle progressives.

If this is considered anthitetical, sobeit, and I'll accept being banned. I've been an Ayn Rand fan for years and still am. That said, I'm also a liberal and I would ask your commenters that rather than call us names, you might politely listen to what I say. Asking that gun control be discussed, close on the heels of the Las Vegas tragedy, is not "politicization." Rather, it is just common sense. And to those who say that the investigation is incomplete and therefore it's too soon, I submit that the Sandy Hook investigation (like many others) IS complete. And so I ask politely, could we please discuss gun control?

What more laws, "gun control" or otherwise, in this case would be needed? The criminal broke the law when he committed murder, he broke the law when he maimed, and he broke the law using automatic weapons. I'm sure when this is all said and done there will be a list of other acts he committed that were against existing laws. Since the acts he committed and the hardware he used were already against laws on the books, what more laws could possibly be added that this individual would actually adhere to that would make him finally decide to not do what he did?

Agreed, Dobrien. The 100% solution to this problem is beyond me and may be beyond all of us at this time in history. Using a computer as an analogy, it can fail with bad programming or hardware fault or some combination of the two. I don't see, in a nation of over 300 million people or world of 5 or 6 billion, where we will never see this kind of tragedy happening from time to time. I suspect even if humankind can reach a civilized Objectivist society there will be tragic breakdowns now and then.

You know it. I hope this was a lone wolf but through this post their may very well be more to it.
Experts need to examine how many guns rounds were spent and the time of the first shots to the last, start doing some math how many times can one Untrained guy reload all of that. It could be the Uncivil war.

Well said. Even though your describing yourself as "liberal" makes me cringe a bit, I agree that name calling just makes people less receptive to intelligent discussion. I think the problem lies with trying to determine what the problem is prior to jumping on one bandwagon of "gun control." Criminals will not follow laws. If you ban guns, you have to ban trucks, knives, fertilizer, pool acid, etc. It's not the instrument as much as it is the mental state of individuals. An example of the slippery slope of passing more laws would be like banning detachable magazines so crazies couldn't kill as many people quickly, and would be no different than banning cattle guards for the front of pickups if someone drove through a crowd. His truck would drive much longer going through bodies with a cattle guard than without. Once again, the instrument is not the problem, it is mental health.

Of course that is my opinion and may differ from yours, but you don't see folks from either side of the aisle changing their attitudes about a solution...

Hi TWOberry, Thank you for your comment.
You are FREE to identify with any group you wish. Your approach to this topic is fair and ethical.
But If the left says they have no sympathy because they (country music fans) are President Trump supporters SORRY That is "politicization"
it is a bad start to any dialog. Another bad start is when the left lies and says the weapon used was because gun laws are lax in Nevada.

This guy committed at least 575 crimes that would be same in crimes in every state.

He then took his own life, what would you do make a law that says he can't die after committing these crimes?

With that said if there are reasonable ideas to explore and to help prevent these horrid acts, I am all for it. Mental Health is a big issue in this
      debate IMHO.

Honestly this is not any different than what the right does as well if the narrative fits. When a muslim terrorist attacks, the right immediately brings up the topic of needing to be less lenient in immigration or border control laws. I have always said though, the only thing worse than a Republican is a Democrat...

Do we need stricter immigration standards and better border protection? Probably. Do we need to discuss solutions to mass shootings? Probably. I am an ENORMOUS proponent of the second amendment, and there are some gun control laws on the books that are absolutely illogical and pointless, but there are also some common sense things that we need to look towards a solution. Making things illegal doesn't keep a criminal from breaking the law. Should bump fire stocks be listed as a class 3 item? Perhaps. Should there be background checks prior to buying of any firearm? Perhaps (I know that has nothing to do with this particular shooting since he passed background checks). Should folks who are prescribed antipsychotic medications be allowed to buy firearms? Perhaps not.

Bottom line, there is nothing wrong with a logical , EDUCATED debate about firearms, mass murderers, and mental health. If this guy didn't have access to "scary" black rifles, would he have driven through the crowd in a rented box truck, killing and maiming just as many people? Perhaps. The real issue is how mental health correlates to access to firearms, box trucks, bomb making materials, knives, etc. We are a country of people who think we are dependent upon mind altering medications, prescribed by unethical doctors looking for a kickback from Pfizer. The solution likely isn't going to lie with banning detachable magazines, but in our mental health.

Well it is different in that I have never heard from republicans they have no sympathy for the victims. BTW I have voted independent for most of my life. Both parties have never done me or my family any good.
This guy broke the law over 575 times at a minimum. When the left lies about lax gun laws in Nevada. The NRA is responsible and amendment 2 proponents don't care about kids in the daycare massacre on and on.

Yes dialog at the proper time with both groups and do not take away the 2nd amendment.

I think it is not in my best interests to have massive fire power that is not secure available to everyone, what massive fire power is could be debated.
Mental health taken over by big pharma is another failure in this enlightened world of the 21st century.

I definitely agree about not hearing Republicans say they have no sympathy for victims. That is truly horrible what that commentator said and is an example of how Democrats are often much more "hateful" than Republicans. It is also very evident that the majority of those on the left have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to firearms. Their terminology and explanations of weapons/ammunition/accessories is nearly always incorrect or misleading at best.

Trump admin has a clue! There is a time and place.

Asked at Monday's press briefing if Trump was considering whether to pursue any changes to gun regulations, press secretary Sarah Sanders said, "There's a time and place for a political debate, but now is the time to unite as a country." She added that the investigation was ongoing, "and it would be premature for us to discuss policy when we don't fully know all the facts or what took place last night."

This is what happens when you call people "Deplorable" and continually dehumanize them so they are no longer seen as individuals. These are classic totalitarian tactics and there are way too many people on the left who think just like her. This all ties in to what might be the most plausible explanation of the shooting given the meager facts we have so far as outlined here:

    https://www.lewrockwell.com/2017/10/j...

    From the article:
"Now, given the patterns of the last two years (to say nothing of the left’s long history of violence), is not the theory that the Vegas killer was but another committed Resister, determined to, “by any means necessary,” “bash the fash” not eminently plausible?

After all, the predominantly white country music fans upon whom Paddock set his sights constitute the collective poster child of the Deplorable, a fact of which leftists, in their ever articulate manner, have spared no occasion to remind us from the moment that word broke of this outrage."

      Thanks tjmalone,
I feel a little embarrassed that it didn't occur to me that this is part of the Uncivil war that we are in.
Oh naive me, the constant hateful rhetoric that has divided this nation does have consequences. Maybe some serious lawsuits brought charging the Swampers for inciting of riots and murder in a civil court.

Time will tell. But even if this particular incident is not that, I think we are seeing a clear shift now from liberal fascism to what I can only call liberal "supremacism." They keep ratcheting up the violent rhetoric higher and higher. Just like with white supremacists or Islamic supremacists, many liberals like this educated and otherwise "normal" executive at CBS, have been so brainwashed and filled with moral superiority by leftist education and culture, they see those who disagree with them politically as immoral or sub-human -- and therefore seeing them slaughtered is just fine. This is a very sickening and ominous development for the country.

Liberals are always concerned about how their agenda to enslave everyone completely is affected not the course of human life or tragedy. The only examples where the government controls all weapons all end the same way with far more people dying at the hands of the state than at the hands of a few deranged individuals. When the state makes all slaves and all weapons are in the states hands the criminals go to work for the state.

A “caring” aftermath tweet from hillary clinton clearly shows her agenda:
“The crowd fled at the sound of gunshots. Imagine the deaths if the shooter had a silencer, which the NRA wants to make easier to get.”

She is uneducated to the topic. There is no such thing as a "silencer" for a .556 weapon. At best you can suppress it down a bit, but it is FAR from "silent." A full auto (or bump fired) AR 15 with a suppressor is still going to make a lot of noise, especially with supersonic ammo. Sub sonic ammo wouldn't have enough velocity to cause major carnage from that distance. It just goes to show you the ignorance of most from the left.

I'm not a big cry baby but I have to admit that some of the stories coming out of this event have had me experiencing some allergy-like symptoms. Very, very sad event. That somebody would use this for political gain is hard to comprehend... We're really sliding over the abyss. People who use this for political gain should be publicly called out...

Just the same questions to be asked over and over. "What kind of law would you have passed that would have prevented this tragedy, rather than the laws already in place?" How would the absence of legitimate gun owners have prevented this event? Plus one statement. If you ban the legitimate ownership of guns you'll get just as many guns and of poorer quality.
Don't you people learn from experience?

From what I understand, just about every person who carries this kind of thing out is on fairly heavy psych meds. I don't mean to demean those on Prozac and such. 25% of all women in the US is on them. But, we know there is some causation to these kinds of behaviors with those drugs. As the population on them continues to explode I expect this kind of thing to be in the news regularly.

That CBS executive will only be reprimanded for letting the cat out of the bag - much like releasing top secret info during war. See...as I mentioned to a friend recently. The prog left realizes they are at war with the rest of us. The rest of us are just enjoying blissful ignorance...

I think her comments are shocking, at best.

A CBS spokeswoman told Fox News that Geftman-Gold, “who was with us for approximately one year, violated the standards of our company and is no longer an employee of CBS. Her views as expressed on social media are deeply unacceptable to all of us at CBS. Our hearts go out to the victims in Las Vegas and their families.”

To say the answer is gun control is asinine. Liberals have a saying “never waste a crisis”. Hillary’s twitter turned an act of violence into an act of terror. The response of the left was predictable more gun control. How exactly would gun control have saved these people?

The weapon was fully automatic, fully automatic weapons are illegal under current gun control laws. If anything the Vegas shooting proved gun control doesn’t work.

I have watched zero coverage of it. Suppose the media took a week to review nothing but the 50 people killed and 500 people injured during by cars on any random workday between 7am and 7pm. It would have personal stories about how they just got married, just had a baby, or at just retired and planned to travel the world. I would end up so depressed watching that.

My wife does a lot of estate planning work, and to hear her cases it sounds like pancreatic cancer and sudden cardiovascular problems are everywhere. It's one case after another of these diseases suddenly striking previously healthy normal people. You have to do what you can to help and then do something interesting or fun.

A random mass-murder event is worse b/c some unhinged and/or evil person did it on purpose. I don't give a whit if he was motivated by politics, religion, or his ex-wife. We want great tragedies to have great causes and great solutions, but it doesn't work out that way. Unhinged and/or evil people are an unfortunate part of the human experience.

"Unhinged and/or evil people are an unfortunate part of the human expirience" Yes. That is why a person who lies, steals, cheats, assaults and murders is a threat to us all. The coddling of criminals and the excuses given for their evil , do mankind no favors. You give an example of a week of auto accidents that impact families as well as sudden health issues that change lives with great grief. I concur but they are not of an evil source. I think you would agree a better example would be a couple of weeks in Chicago and the violence in the failed social experiment called public housing and welfare that destroys the nuclear family. If you add a publicly taught sentiment of blame on a 150 years deceased slavery or a subjective negative from prejudiced thoughts. Blame, it creates no responsibility.
Thus taking away responsibility for actions
means you don't have any control over your life and the value of life is deminished. Morals and principals are learned, if all were taught to live with their own ETHICAL self interest violence would disappear.
