A sign of the times? My neighbor dispute.
I'm amazed this needed to be said. Has society lost all of its common decency and mutual respect?
Dear Neighbor,
There is a line between our properties, defined by where my wall and your wall meet, which determines ownership. Ownership determines who can make use each property and how it's to be used. I'm writing this because there have been a few instances over the last year where you have seen fit to use the land on the side of my house, my private property, property I own because I pay for it, as your place to store your yard waste. I've been politely moving these branches and pulled weeds back onto your property in a fairly organized way as a subtle reminder that YOU HAVE NO RIGHT or PERMISSION to discard, store or temporarily place ANYTHING of yours on my land. Unfortunately you've chosen, again, to ignore this subtle reminder and put your stuff back on my property. In the spirit of being neighborly I'm writing to remind you that YOU HAVE NO RIGHT OR PERMISSION FROM ME TO BE ON OR PLACE ANYTHING ON MY LAND in hopes that plain English will get through where object lessons have not. I'd greatly appreciate it if you'd follow my example and put your yard waste in the alley or, if bulk trash is a fair distance away, store YOUR TRASH in your back yard until bulk trash is schedules to be picked up.
I do not think this is too much to ask. In fact, I assumed that most people would have the decency to understand this minor degree of respect toward their neighbor and that neighbors property. Suffice it to say, I have a copy of this letter and will use it as proof of "reasonable communication" with you with the proper authorities if you continue putting your trash on my land.
I appreciate your cooperation,
Your Neighbor
Franky, I'm shocked this had to be written.

Good luck with this. It's a shame you have to even ask. Ouch, after reading further I see you are concerned about possible violence. Sorry to hear that, and good luck.
As you know, Florida is prone to hurricanes. My neighbor has a live oak on his property. Live oaks are known for their branches that stretch waaay out from the trunk. In this case, way out over my roof. Repeated urgingings have done nothing and finally, we got Hurricane Irma.It tore many of the branches off my neighbor's live oak tree. But not the offending branch.
Why me, Lord?
The above statement has inspired a new dino thought that relates~There be gnats and mosquitoes.
Another related new thought~Yeah, but at least it is legal to swat insect pests.
Yet another new related thought~Why can't they make sorry people repellent that we can rub on?
The third option, as express by Dob is more likely the problem.
Fortunately I haven't run into problems like this or any other problems with my neighbors.
In a liberal state...that's EPIC!
I live in a large wooded conservative neighborhood.
I suspect from the many little pieces my home made "private property" sign was torn up that there the potential for violence, or at least a heated rant.
As for the properly line the area where the walls meet coincides with the edge some railroad ties laid into the ground, a clear marking. Where he put this was entirely on my side, against my wall and partially against my house. I think its pretty obvious. (pic below, my yard is the one with the rocks and the yellow wall)

Wish you all the luck in the world AJ, hope it can be resolved peacefully.
1. Illegal dumping
2. Destruction of private property (the no dumping sign that was clearly on my land)
3. Trespassing (to get to my sign.
I'm very annoyed after the shredding of my sign and letter. Rather than expand this into a feud, which it may well anyway, I'd just as soon get the proper authorities involved.
Its remarkable to me that this has gone this far.
While it would give me a degree of satisfaction to have this person cited I'm also considering just dumping the trash myself to end the nonsense (several can trips to the back alley - 3/4 the way around my house). Yes, its goes against principle for me to let this slide but I'm not entirely sure I want to kickoff tension that could last months or years.
I'm going to sleep on this.
Do you recall the video clip of the 'magic table'. This clip, while humorous, was a big AHA! to me. Please be aware that by disposing of the neighbor's trash, you are being a 'magic table'; you are essentially enabling the behavior.
You are far from the only person to have had this trouble. If you Search for the keywords, you will find many people who have had this problem; you will find many recourses and suggestions as well.

to the neighbor rather than use "object lessons".
Better not to give anyone a handle to accuse you of
taking the law into your own hands.
"They was taking plaster tire tracks, foot prints, dog smelling prints, and
they took twenty seven eight-by-ten colour glossy photographs with circles
and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each
one was to be used as evidence against us. Took pictures of the approach,
the getaway, the northwest corner the southwest corner and that's not to
mention the aerial photography.
After the ordeal, we went back to the jail. Obie said he was going to put
us in the cell. Said, "Kid, I'm going to put you in the cell, I want your
wallet and your belt." And I said, "Obie, I can understand you wanting my
wallet so I don't have any money to spend in the cell, but what do you
want my belt for?" And he said, "Kid, we don't want any hangings." I
said, "Obie, did you think I was going to hang myself for littering?""
Now i have to listen to it again...I need a long drive
In your case just place all of the waste on his front steps. of course you can't threaten him but it may get through to him. And you could put dog pooh under it first.
Letter. Sign, pics and threat of civil suit.
It's really quite silly that it may come to this.
My brother was musing with her...”surprising that all this stuff from your trees blew over here. Just strange.” Blank stare.
I deal with this on a different level living on a 1 mile long loop road from the main road with just 3 homes. The landfill charges $2 per bag but it is much easier and less expensive to just dump it on my road where no homes can see it being dumped. The town pick it up as long as a bear doesn't drag it all over and they find an envelope with address and the Sheriff presents a ticket for littering with a $250 fine and the judge listens to no excuses.
I'm not sure why exactly, but this stuff really pisses me off. I can't let this slide.
The mindless unconscious today abound.
After all HRC got over 50 million votes , those people choose to ignore her criminal activity and her reckless use of the state dept to enrich her family. They are certainly not objective.
