You may want to go check on this, 143 million means about a 50/50 chance, and I was lucky enough that both my wife and I won their lottery. Their web site is

3 time loser. In the past 5 months had 2 cards used by thieves and now this. The banksters' system is broken and they should be fired (and jailed) for wrecking our economy and culture. Thanks for posting, nick.

Actually a couple years ago I had a CC stolen by using it at PDX for parking, and unbeknownst to me the 2 men and a woman in Terminal Maint overalls with the silver box nearby were scamming every card and code, and then went on to use them. I caught it quickly, when the CC company emailed me to tell me the 5th Starbucks GC they bought was declined. I filed a fraud notice and got a new card in a week and all the charges deleted. All Cap One wanted was me to tell them I would testify at their trial which I gladly did.

I posted anothr article as it has become a lot more ugly, in that they (Equifax) are only using this to screw people again, after screwing them by allowing their private data to be snatched. They want you to sign up for THEIR credit monitoring, (which is like asking the robber to come back to do it again), their top 3 executives sold all their stock days before the announcement, and when you go to check your status, their web site signs away your right to sue and locks you into arbitration. They supposedly changed that after they got caught, andnow you supposedly have to send them a letter stating you do not surrender any rights to sue. This whole mess could almost have been run by the government. And they are really classic looters, taking your information, requireing lenders to use them by selling this BS idea they have some secret sauce to tell you if someone is good or not, and they actually produce NOTHING. Seems pretty lottery to me....
