Impotent Bullies with Weapons

Kim Jong un would be a laughable imp if it weren't for the weapons he has aquired by breaking every law and treaty with other nations in which he and his forebears have ever been involved. Saudi Arabia has more lobbyists bugging up congress than the White House has termites. Iran has just as many but they remain in the shadows, since we have chosen Saudi good, Iran bad.

Throw in a dollop of political correctness and the country has descended into a sewer from which it may never ascend. PC has turned logic on top of itself as as the recent rioting has proven:
The police stand down, because you can't hate Muslims, even though they hate Christians, Jews, and Gays. You can't hate blacks because they are victims. You can't hate illegal immigrants because they are poor and virtuous and are escaping oppression. If there are a few terrorists among the illegals, it can't be helped, just live with it.

So, who is there left to hate? How about Middle Class White men? They seem powerless and unorganized and are linked to Republicans, or Conservatives Making them as perfect a target as any devised by Dr. Goebbels.

All this has led to a North Korea that is armed to the teeth with the end of the civilized world fostered by the last three occupants of the White House before a businessman trying to do things like a businessman tries to save western society from a nuclear melt down only to have an exhibit of pettiness and self absorption like the world ha not seen since the days of the courtiers.

The best weapon may turn out to be the worst weapon Economic sanctions on s starving people may cause rebellion among the people, but what will it cause Kimmie to so once he is threatened with finality?

The problem with uoomy is he doesn't care about his people, he's too self absorbed. He just likes the faux Godhood he's bestowed upon himself.

Trumpet, on the other hand is self absorbed as well and for different reasons leading to an entirely different outcome but the biggest difference of all is that he does care about people, his family and what America stands for-even thought he might not understand it to it's fullest extent.

When me dino voted, a Bad Hair Day who does care about the USA was the best choice for imperfection.
At least he could beat the Evil Hag and how she would have tilted the Supreme Court against The Constitution.

Kim Jong Un is the third in a line of petty, spoiled dictators and I really don't think the sanctions are going to do much. He's never lived the life of a commoner and neither did his father, so he has zero connection to his people, which is why I believe he can treat them so poorly. They are completely an abstract concept to him, so their privations mean literally nothing. This also makes him extremely dangerous, because he would order war and the destruction of his people if it suited him. It is one of the reasons I have always appreciate an elected leader, because there is little chance (outside of the ruling families like the Clintons and Bushes) of them developing such an elitist, detached view of human life.

Self preservation is a wonderful motivator. For all the talking heads and liberal weenies aghast at President Trump's "fire and fury" comments, little Kimmy wasn't so sure that he wouldn't be on the receiving end of that fire, and backed down. A victory of national leadership, but no one will give Trump the credit he's due.

I hope the President is sending the message to China that it's past time for them to tighten the leash on NK and remove their nuclear capability. The alternative, that needs to be made unquestionably clear, is that we'll have to reinstall our tactical nuclear weapons in South Korea, so that the two Koreas will have mutually assured destruction (MAD) like we have with Russia, and India has with Pakistan. To raise the stakes, we should also hint that Japan is considering nuclear weapons as well, which is the last thing China wants to hear.

The big difference is the starvation factor. There is no possible excuse for a nation far enough advanced to produce rockets and nuclear weapons while half the population literally starves.

If the banksters and the governments they manipulate decided that the US was a leper country and stopped all financing and trade, what would the result be?

We would be poorer, but we'd have no trouble feeding ourselves unless some bad guy in government started confiscating or price-controlling food the way they've done in Venezuela.

No trouble? American's would be forced into a crash diet in a few days. There would be "Hamburger Riots." Transportation would be a mess due to lack of fuel and getting food to market would be immediately affected. There would be food rationing and fuel rationing, curfews, maybe martial law.

You're being silly. What does the US farm industry need from outside our borders in order to keep producing?

20% of the food in grocery stores is imported. (35% of fresh produce and 70% of seafood.) Most of the rest is transported from domestic sources far away and assumes plentiful diesel fuel is available everywhere. What is planted, grown and harvested domestically depends on plentiful fertilizers and plentiful diesel fuel. U.S. nitrogen and potash supplies largely depend on imports.
              https://www.ers.usda.gov/data-product...
More than 50 percent of nitrogen (N) and 85 percent of potash (K2O) supply was from imports in the U.S. in fertilizer year (July 1 to June 30) 2011 (the latest full year of production data available)
The US imported 5 million barrels of oil a day more than it exported in 2016.
Imports of steel to the US are in excess of 30 million tons per year. That would also have to be dealt with in order to manufacture the farm equipment needed to produce 20% more food.
              You are underestimating the problem.

We export more food than we import. The only reason we import as much as 20% is that we're importing things like fruits and vegetables from South America during northern hemisphere winter.

Add to those issues a grand solar minimum that wipes out half the crops.
We need to develope localized indoor food production.

And I didn't take into account the end of overseas financing, the removal of the dollar as the "world reserve currency", the resulting crash in the dollar's value against other currencies, the collapse of all exports and millions of layoffs as a result.

You are so right about indoor food production. Farming profitably and ethically is very difficult.

              Ditto.
Starvation would need to be done by conscious effort as Americans have not yet been so homogenized to the point of aquiescence to become what the state tells them they are.

How about the opposite of economic sanctions for a change? Encourage NK to complete in the free market like their neighbors. Stop rattling sabers every time they test a rocket or make a provocative news release. It's just internal politics at work to maintain power for Kim. He's doing the same thing as US politicians: creating fear to increase control over the people.

(Completely agree about the socialist media black-balling guilt trip foisted on productive, white anglo saxon men. Let's go on strike.)

China does not want a one Korea peninsula.
Kim Jong Un and N. Korea gives the chinese a border buffer. China is the dominant Asian player , let's hope the hostility is dampened by reason.
    N. Korean Jung Family are as OUC describes so succinctly as the great unwashed all have zero interest in caring for their subjects. No conscience
Kind of like the Deceiving RINO's in Congress.

what if all of this posturing is a contrived deal among nations? the us is deteriorating and china is developing so they need each other. the rest of the world is waiting to see how it goes. the little clown in nk will not do anything. so relax and just go down hill with the rest of us in the good old usa.

Not the individuals. The usual downfall. Acting emotionally while those emotions are being manipulated by people who don't care so long as their needs are being taken care of.You might note that every "strong leader" "peoples republic" "proletariot paradise" always winds up with millions living in an unproductive life while those in government thrive.

Gooses up the economy for one thing. Gives elite insiders an opportunity to make big bucks and increases employment. Of course, that would all happen by itself at a rather slower pace and not at a precise time and place, thus not giving the insiders and lucky guessers the opportunity for a killing (pun intended.).

            Understood.

I remember hearing that liberals start wars while conservatives fight them. I'd like to be more specific...the children of conservatives fight them. In my finance work I had a couple as clients who were politically conservative, god-fearing people. When they told me of the anguish of having their daughter on the battlefield in Afghanistan the tears welled up in my eyes. I'll not forget that...
