It's time: Eudaimonia
There's a certain gulch user who pops up from time to time, and to be completely blunt, I've had it up to my gills with him.
I am speaking, of course, of Eudaimonia.
I often wonder what kind of a poor impression he gives to people who are new to the site.
This concern is well founded as has been made plain by at least one other gulcher:
**** Eudaimonia has no regard for civil rights :

When McD's came out with that campaign, I would often respond to it, "I'm heavin' it!"
Nothing against their product, I just didn't like the campaign.

Of course. Expecting you to support the idea of equal rights would just be too much...
****Eudaimonia cites, knowingly or not, sources linked to infamous white supremacist David Horowitz - leaving no other option but to conclude he is either: stupid, racist, or both.

And you've used sources which were likely fronts for white supremacist groups, though you didn't realize it.

Wow, I just got back from grocery shopping to find this.
I'm really interested in what these source are which you refer to.

I don't remember what the name of the site was, as it was a while ago, but it was that one page which you linked to accusing the Southern Poverty Law Center of being a hate group. The site never openly revealed itself as such, but the attitude and political stances it advocated just absolutely stunk of white supremacy in nearly every sentence.

That site was discoverthenetworks.com
Discover The Networks is one of many sites founded and run by David Horowitz.
Mr. Horowitz would find your assertion that he fronts for white supremacists to be... amusing.

Just read through a few of the article there, and from that my belief that David Horowitz advocates white supremacy is only strengthened.

Then I suggest you take it up with Mr. Horowitz.
You can contact him either here

or here

And, *please* do post your emails with him here.
I've got a lot more popcorn.

If you too, have had enough... it's time - here's your chance to sound off.

There isn't room here in Coventry for me *and* Maph...
:)
If you do that here, don't be surprised if there's a little something extra in your food.
I deleted the original post because I replied to you when I meant to reply to xthinker.
I reposted the message correctly.
I have no problem with defending oneself. And I also know that Maph is a one note band, and how he squeals offense at what he finds objectionable, but cannot see that others find his views objectionable (a typical liberal in my book).
I'm merely commenting that offense is only something that the offended can determine. As I told my children, you have to choose to be offended - nobody can offend you. Likewise, as I commented to Xthinker below, there are also those who choose to be offended by anything - particularly anything of which they disagree - and in such a case, there can be no communication, since one party is going to claim everything is offensive.
Take the Redskins football team. For 70 years, give or take, the name was fine, now suddenly it is offensive? I think not. Suddenly people are claiming offense for some other reason. In this case so that they can prove that they can bully a private owner into doing their bidding. Just to prove that they can.

I am a known entity to many on this forum, but I do "go dark" from time to time.
This means that there are a lot of new people who have no idea what my opinions actually are.
If there is a agent provocateur on the board smearing me as a crypto-racist, the people who know me will also know how unfounded the accusation is.
However, the people who don't know me will have to take that smear as a possibility when they consider me.
Am I offended?
No, Maphesdus is a known quantity to me.
Will I defend my character?
You bet your ass I will.
The Left claims offense where there is none and then uses that claim as a political weapon.
There *was* offense here.
There has also been over a year of suggestions, made in a civil manner, that while debate is fine, agitation is not.
I am sick to my teeth of the constant agitation and the constant use by the Left of their "ism" and "hate speech" cards in order to stifle debate.
In short: if you spend over a year of agitation on this board, and then claim that I shill for white supremacists - don't be surprised when I go "all in" to push back.
It always follows recession. Ol' Herb is more depressed than a flat bicycle tire after traveling 10 miles.
