The Trouble With Truth

One of the cute little tricks of the left that I have detected recently is to attribute a truth to a universally recognized villain, thus, in their minds, neutralizing the validity of that truth. But does it? Truth: That which corresponds to reality. Truth stands alone no matter who says it. It doesn't matter if that truth is presented by Rand or by Hitler, the truth stays true no matter who says it. If a truth is mouthed by George Soros, after it has been espoused by Ayn Rand, it does not negate that truth. The truth may be tainted in some minds because it was said by a villain. Do not be fooled. And remember this, one of the very worse things you can do is to refuse to recognize the truth because you don't like it.
I loved the sign my daughter-in-law had taped to the fridge:
Because I'm The Mommy. That's Why. DEAL WITH IT!

Hollywood and others are working feverishly to create computer graphics that are so real to the viewer that you can't tell them apart from reality. There are two reasons for this.
First, of Hollywood can create "actors" that look and act like real people, there will be no need to pay millions to flesh and blood actors to be in their movies. Cheaper production cost - which is the reason we have all of the God-awful reality TV programming today.
The second reason, mainly being pursued by the "others", and far more sinister, is in fact the same - to create a virtual reality that is indistinguishable from real reality. Once this is achieved, then those who bring us Fake News today will take that to the next level and will provide us with video that shows Putin walking into Trump Towers, or riots in Detroit, or atomic bombs going off in Kansas City. They will simply take this technology, make up whatever they want that advances their agenda, and viewers will be unable to distinguish between their fake video and the real thing.
Everything ever created by man has at some point been turned for nefarious purposes. CG and Virtual Reality will. E no different. Welcome, Winston. Your reality awaits.

I completely agree and couple that with the poor educational position that the vast majority are in and we are nearly there now.

You can say that again! I spent an entire career supervising a bunch of College educated idiots who never could figure out what side to butter their bread on. Veterans with no or just a little college were my shining stars.

Here's an old joke that kinda fits: The chief bookkeeper of a family owned manufacturing firm was a man of regular habits. Every day when he came in to work he opened his desk drawer and took out a small slip of paper, nodded to himself, and carefully put the paper back in the desk. He did this every work day for 30 years. Then one day he didn't come to work. The owner tearfully said he had passed away. He was well liked by everyone, but they were dying of curiosity. What was on that slip of paper. Some were betting it was an inspirational saying, while others came up with every monumental piece of language imaginable. Finally the curiosity became too big. One of the bolder clerks went up to the man's desk, opened the drawer, took out the slip of paper, unfolded it and read, "Debit side toward the windows."

That last statement is certainly the truth...

What most do not get is that "Truth" never changes...only our understanding of it.
I relate Truth to the physical, natural and quantum laws and everything that relates to those laws. They never change...only our understanding of them.
All else, might be considered Facts...so long as they are observable, repeatable and duplicatable.

"They never change, only our understanding of them." Excellent. One of the things that makes people confused about the consistency of the nature of truth. It's the old blind people trying to describe an elephant story.

Do things really function all that different when one is upside down in a right side up world?...I suppose, only if the had eye on their toes...as for the elephant in the story...being groped by something that is upside down just might be embarrassing....laughing.

Post Script: those "cute little tricks of the left" are certainly "Cute": so ugly, that in a very strange sort of way...kind of interesting; a definition that fits that bill to a "T"....more like the kind of "T" that used to be portrayed on Saturday Night Live before they too, became "Cute".

Why Joe the Plumber came under a truthful attack by protective slobbering love affair media for the truthful way Candidate Obama answered his simple question~
"I want to spread the wealth around."
But Joe owes the IRS money! Joe owes back taxes! Lookit Joe! Lookit Joe! OMG, it's Joe! Joe! Joe! Lookit Joe!
Me dino is still amazed by all that truthful BS.
A recalled stupid letter to some editor me dino also read: "Plumber Joe is a Republican plant."

He was a plant alright. He turned from a Venus Flytrap into a shrinking violet. But I can't say as I blame him. If the media wants to destroy anyone who doesn't have millions to spare, they can turn your life into a living hell.

Yeah, Joe the peon Plumber wasn't the one running for president of the whole USA either.
But he's the one who got peed on for what Barry said.
Me dino finds the whole protect the progressive psychology that spun that telling the truth incident fascinating.

I dislike the word "spin." The word is LIE.
Because a proposition contains some part of a partial truth it is called spin. All it is, is a lie with some decoration attached.

I've been equating political spin with deception aka "smoke and mirrors."
Where Joe the Plumber is concerned, the media hooted and hollered about his truthful shortcomings to at least get sheeple fascinated with a first black president to overlook Barry's admission to being a socialist.
How well that worked, I don't know. The skin color fascination followed by a D may have overrode everything.

Every time I start to read, view, or listen to political discourse, I feel like I'm drowning in irrelevancies. Russia, Russia Russia. Turmoil in the White House. Etc, etc. I'm not interested, which, I guess, is what the left is using to bore us to death which will mask the accomplishments of Trump. I think that so far, he's gotten a heluva lot of good stuff and some stupid stuff, but if you want to f o get real info. you'll have to dig for it.

Agreed, and I am ready to stop arguing completely. I had to post on my FB, "whatever, you all are on your own." I haven't lost faith in Trump yet as I can attribute what I consider mistakes to be lack of knowledge and proper guidance. As long as he continues to make proper moral and ethical decisions showing that he has a conscience then he has my support and I hope he doesn't get offed in the process. The irrelevancies are just another stall tactic by everyone involved, and I'm kinda happy they are making it plain to see that Republicans and Democrats of the progressive movement are really working together to stall everything against Trump. At this time I consider Trump to be right and true, anyone opposed to be wrong and false or fake.

I don't hear about Russia anymore as it is just a distraction. They are putting Trump in a box so that when he has to make this next decision, stand by the EU and Nato and place sanctions on Russia, or continue to repair Russian relations by doing nothing, the mainstream will scream if he does nothing to support their failing fantasy. Russia and China are not part of the club and I don't think they will ever accept an invitation to that club because they are not stupid and they can see the advantage it does not give them. The only way they would join the club is if they have leaders who like the idea of a 2 tiered world. If that happens and WW3 is avoided by Russia and China along with all other world leaders accepting their expected role in the new world order, then it matters not what happens in the US or Germany or Russia or Iran or North Korea or any of the 200+ nations that exist. The elites are now separate from us so who cares. That is the grand plan, but never has it worked in history before and I expect it not to work this time either. It is one hell of a show.

I have four brothers. One is a lib. It's interesting to still how the stifles the conversation between brothers when he is around.
My otherwise most outspoken conservative brother advised me that the lib thinks it is just wrong that I think it is fun to go to a pistol range.

Yeah, I don't watch any mainstream media, I haven't watched TV for over 10 years. I work in isolation so as not to be influenced by anything and placing labels on people is not what I practice. Who is Shephard Smith? I don't really care to know because it is worthless to me. What does CNN talk about? It doesn't matter anymore because they have become irrelevant. I can no longer hold a conversation with 99% of my friends because the cognitive dissonance they experience when talking to me is too great. There is only one person that I pay attention to while I navigate the "news" looking for truth. This person was put in jail with no charges and his predictive model was stolen by the government (Goldman Sachs). They could not understand the output so they were unable to use it. After he got out of prison, for which he never received a charge, he moved to Switzerland and vowed to never help the US again. Then they passed the NDAA to remedy that situation. But anyway, I don't know what group you want to assign me to, that doesn't matter to me. Yes, all those things you mention are insane, but there is a purpose behind them and plan. In my opinion either we lay down and accept our fate, or we can fight it as it appears to me that Trump is doing. I am behind Trump as long as he stays true.

There's so much I can respond to about your post, but I'll limit it to just one aspect. You are missing an awful lot of fun. A number of years ago, I posted that humor is the oil that keeps the serious talk from seizing up. You might consider it.

You're absolutely right about the fact that I need to lighten up, but that is hard for me. I am not in the having fun stage, not until I know for sure what to expect. That's just me and how I operate, much like a machine. I have a feeling it might be due to the line of 20 nurses all with syringes which I had to sign waivers for before injection and was not allowed to read at the time and can not find in my medical records. I like to have fun and I'll do my best, thx for the tip. I guess the shock and awe philosophy is still a part of me and something I need to eliminate since I resigned my commission 10 years ago. Thx again.

It is very small, but I feel that it is growing if you can get through to people. That task is so arduous that I have given up for the moment, although the truth is I will never give up, I am simply scaling back my force feeding of the truth.

I am glad for your confirmation of Trump's character, thank you, and I hope that he remains true to himself and to the people. I am watching him closely and I am pretty sure I will know the instant he breaks as I have been put in that position many times. I wish him strength enough to remain true and fight the good fight.

Actually that's BS but it writes nice. It's kinda interesting since I have one cousin who fights with me on the internet and another who is close to both of us and gets caught in the middle. They're both women and the one in the middle keeps checking with me to check and see if we're still friends.I tell her that nothing can make me un-love her. She lives in Mass. which is a bastion of liberals, as you know.

It would be nice for that person to tell you himself and say why. Is it wrong to go to the range or wrong to think it's fun? If he think it's just a little wrong, like doing a rolling stop when turning right on red, maybe he would go to the range with you and show you what parts are wrong. It's hard for me to imagine him not having fun, and then he might re-evaluate.

It seems politics is now about searching for some technicality under which someone broke the law. I remember it being more about the policies twenty years ago. The budget debate after the Republicans took control of Congress was not Lincoln-Douglas, but it was about policy differences. Now discourse is more about finding a reason to lock up the other candidate for accidentally violating some law.

You hit the nail. That is definitely one of the reasons so many laws are passed by the Dems. There are laws upon laws to the point where you can be convicted of doing something, or not doing something on the very same circumstance but two different laws. Then, there is the nonsense that a legislator is not doing his/her job unless they sponsor a bill that passes. Between the two pressures there are enough laws on the books to govern fifty countries with one left over for Samoa.

"There are laws upon laws "
It erodes respect for the law. If everyone breaks some law, going 5 over, putting some personal items in a business purchase, walking through a no-firearms area with a legally-carried gun, using drugs, driving without a seat belt; then the authorities learn to look the other way for these little things, and the law becomes an excuse to exercise arbitrary power. The concept of the law was created to prevent this.

The problem with a villain uttering the truth is that the lazy then assume that all that is said is the truth and they don't use effort to discover otherwise. A successful villain will utter truth as long as it directs the herd in the direction of the cliff and a lie when the herd hesitates; 'Don't worry, it won't hurt. It will be for the good of the many!"

I still wear my Navy shirt that says, "Don't give up the ship." That was the motto of the USS Lake Erie, the Navy test platform for shooting down ICBMs in outer space. I was the Combat Information Center Officer. After we successfully demonstrated to South Korea and Japan that this whole process worked I was approached by Lockheed martin executives handing me their business cards saying, "if you ever need a job, look me up." I didn't do anything other than ensure my division did their job. I didn't even consider employment by them after my service because I was disgusted by all of it after reading everything available to me on the top secret side of the pentagon intranet. Why I feel the need to share this idk. North Korea is not a threat to us. No matter what they can do with missiles, we own them already.

Then here is another story, I was the conning officer of the USS Lake Erie at the time and the captain says, "Let's do 30-35 knots, no less, I need to make it to a party at pearl harbor. We are in 25 foot waves, the front end of a typhoon passing over the equator in the pacific. I was driving the ship from 2200-0200 and I said to everyone on the deck, we are going to break this ship. Sure enough, after sleeping for 3 hours after I got done with my shift, the ship is broken and we are going to have to limp back to the phillipines for repairs. I was thinking to myself, jesus, do some calculations, use your head, we don't have to go that fast to make it back in time. The moral of this story is, it doesn't matter what the cost to the taxpayer is, political events are more important than anything else. You don't mean shit to them and neither does this ship or anything else. That realization landed me here today.

There is another recent trick that the Snow Flakes and Progressives of various ages have taken as their cause celebre', that being they now are trying to coin a new phrase or rebranding if you will for Conservatives.

They are attempting to misname the entire genre as "Neo-Liberals". Truth be told, Conservatism (not the NEOCON variety of course) is Truly "CLASSICAL LIBRALISM" as espoused by de Toqueville et al. Small government, personal freedom and personal responsibility thus unleashing the power of the individual.

This modern movement to "re-brand" Conservatism is being done by those folks who have no clue as to what they are trying to say other than to tie Conservatives "Not NEOCON, to big government, nation building, never saw a war they didn't like" (who incidentally are much closer in alignment with the Progressives who represent the "real" Neo-Liberal movement to which they subscribe).

It would be interesting to point this out to those folks (especially the snowflakes who are truly either clueless because of the indoctrination they have received or, they are just desperately trying to find an answer to the success of the Conservative brand and its robust movement!

    For what its worth!

But I don't think it was invented by the left. Religious leaders all the way to McCarthy-ism did the same.
The trouble is with people listening inattentively and further allowing legislation supporting arguments lacking logical support.
