The Trouble With Truth

One of the cute little tricks of the left that I have detected recently is to attribute a truth to a universally recognized villain, thus, in their minds, neutralizing the validity of that truth. But does it? Truth: That which corresponds to reality. Truth stands alone no matter who says it. It doesn't matter if that truth is presented by Rand or by Hitler, the truth stays true no matter who says it. If a truth is mouthed by George Soros, after it has been espoused by Ayn Rand, it does not negate that truth. The truth may be tainted in some minds because it was said by a villain. Do not be fooled. And remember this, one of the very worse things you can do is to refuse to recognize the truth because you don't like it.
I loved the sign my daughter-in-law had taped to the fridge:
Because I'm The Mommy. That's Why. DEAL WITH IT!

I read you loud and clear. FB was providing me doubt in what might be the truth and the light behind Trump. Maybe my expectations are too high and I am a fool to think that he was put here for a reason.

I don't mean to, and I can't handle it myself. I can not forget what I learned or what happened. As much as I try, be it 6 grams in 6 hours or 16 shots in 4 hours, that matters not. It is my life and what has shaped me.

There you go again, trying to be rational. It seems the one thing that the general population won't accept is sanity. You can throw the hammer all you want but you'll still need it to be accompanied by a thunderclap.

It was a fast diminishing hope. Trump has slowed down the downward spiral in certain areas, speeded them up in others. At least it is not the complete downward plunge it would have been under Clinton.

Then here is another story, I was the conning officer of the USS Lake Erie at the time and the captain says, "Let's do 30-35 knots, no less, I need to make it to a party at pearl harbor. We are in 25 foot waves, the front end of a typhoon passing over the equator in the pacific. I was driving the ship from 2200-0200 and I said to everyone on the deck, we are going to break this ship. Sure enough, after sleeping for 3 hours after I got done with my shift, the ship is broken and we are going to have to limp back to the phillipines for repairs. I was thinking to myself, jesus, do some calculations, use your head, we don't have to go that fast to make it back in time. The moral of this story is, it doesn't matter what the cost to the taxpayer is, political events are more important than anything else. You don't mean shit to them and neither does this ship or anything else. That realization landed me here today.

But I don't think it was invented by the left. Religious leaders all the way to McCarthy-ism did the same.
The trouble is with people listening inattentively and further allowing legislation supporting arguments lacking logical support.

I still wear my Navy shirt that says, "Don't give up the ship." That was the motto of the USS Lake Erie, the Navy test platform for shooting down ICBMs in outer space. I was the Combat Information Center Officer. After we successfully demonstrated to South Korea and Japan that this whole process worked I was approached by Lockheed martin executives handing me their business cards saying, "if you ever need a job, look me up." I didn't do anything other than ensure my division did their job. I didn't even consider employment by them after my service because I was disgusted by all of it after reading everything available to me on the top secret side of the pentagon intranet. Why I feel the need to share this idk. North Korea is not a threat to us. No matter what they can do with missiles, we own them already.

And therein lies my dilemma. Are we past the knee of the curve where there is no turning back? Or is there still hope for the good ole US of A?

Groucho: (To Chico) Just sign right here. It's the sanity clause.
    Chico: I can't sign that.
    Groucho: Why not?
Chico: Everyone knows there's no such thing as Sanity Clause.

Here's an old joke that kinda fits: The chief bookkeeper of a family owned manufacturing firm was a man of regular habits. Every day when he came in to work he opened his desk drawer and took out a small slip of paper, nodded to himself, and carefully put the paper back in the desk. He did this every work day for 30 years. Then one day he didn't come to work. The owner tearfully said he had passed away. He was well liked by everyone, but they were dying of curiosity. What was on that slip of paper. Some were betting it was an inspirational saying, while others came up with every monumental piece of language imaginable. Finally the curiosity became too big. One of the bolder clerks went up to the man's desk, opened the drawer, took out the slip of paper, unfolded it and read, "Debit side toward the windows."
