Chris Christie, Beached

I knew of this story about "the government" "closing the beaches" and Gov. Christie being seen enjoying the empty beach with his family/friends. Being a lifelong California beach kid, I'm somewhat sensitive to such activities. I've seen similar things out here. When they covered the story on the tv I had my wife check it out. What I didn't know was how callous his comments were to the media when asked about it. Did anybody else hear it? I really got a good laugh about how elite he sounded. They even had the lifeguards blocking the entrances to the beach to make sure the public couldn't go on them. Unbelievable.

"Well I'm sorry your not the Governor" said Christie.
He is a looting pig! I have felt that way since he was kissy face with OBLAMO after hurricane Sandy.

Oih say Do, who are you-ooo among the little people to dare criticize auctions taken--I mean, ac-ac-ac-auctions taken--oh, shucks!--by a well-fed and finely-hinded one of your more than equal elitist betters for a revered American aristocrats?
Sir Christie of Jersey most definitely proved he ranked as one whale of a guy among the better of our betters during his Hurricane love fest with His Majesty O the Great and Powerful.
Watch this tribute and weep, you have only one vote, little teeny tiny person, you~

I have no love for Christie but maybe we have to think about this abuse from a different angle. How big is his security detail and how expensive is it every time Dumbo goes anywhere. At the Governor's beach house it might actually be cheaper all the way around. If J Q Public had any idea just how much it cost us all to send the Obama's on their many vacations with all the security and support services we would shit!

Still paying for his retirement detail while he continues his traitorous activities. Living ex-presidents are a threat to freedom. Looters all.

Well, this picture of Christie was taken by a chopper. Probably a news chopper from the MSM. We rarely ever saw such picture taken of the Obama's vacations but hey, he was a democrat. The only one I really remember is of him on a girls bicycle and IMO it fit him perfect!

I agree. The MSM would not have mentioned this at all if Christie carried a Democrat label.
But Christie's actions are not in support of individual liberty and free markets. He is a statist republican and worse than worthless just like the Dems and many other statist republicans.

This beach house has an unusual past .This is where ex Gov Jim McGreevy broke his leg while roughhousing with a gay lover ..But not to let Jim's sexual preference be known his lover was shuttled out and his wife was flown in so as to change the story to he broke his leg while walking on the beach with her .Then we has his I am a gay American speech where he resigned ..

Being from NJ, I can say that this clown has been a joke even before he was elected governor! It has always been about "him" and his ambitions! NJ is a lost cause now for sure because he was probably our last, best hope for turning this "ship of fools" around and putting the, average, hard working citizen first. Unfortunately, there has been (and continues to be) a war on "normal folks" in this state.

It will now become exactly what it is supposed to be under the rule of fools, a "Venezuela on the Hudson" if you will. Now these "Progressive" Democrats can really do the damage they have been planning and desire......

I for one, will be moving to a state that has at least some semblance of sanity left!! Any ideas?

Christie is a smart, but arrogant bully. A perfect illustration between what is smart and what is wise. He would have made a great Mafia don, or perhaps a benevolent dictator. He definitely is in favor of what's best for him and also, if it works out that way, what's the best for you too. And, oh, by the way, just don't think of crossing him.

I really have zero problems with it. The house is the governor's retreat, its part of his compensation, it's not something that is revocable - courts have upheld that time & time again when it comes to public employee pensions & such.

The holdup wasn't his problem, and he was doing his part, we're seeing the slow/steady decline of the social state. We have a few heroes like Chris Christie and Scott Walker pushing needed-reforms on their state budgets, and the "looters" and "cronies" are the ass-hat legislators that won't take something away from someone that bribed them with a campaign donation.

Watch this play out in Illinois, the leftist media is going to portray that as an evil Republican governor taking food away from a baby, when the sticking points are really public employee pensions, education subsidies to districts bought & paid for by the teacher's unions, and Medicaid subsidies.

There is no clause in the bill of rights guaranteeing access to a beach in a state park. Obama started that BS with closing monuments on Capitol Mall and actually hiring Rangers to keep people away from them - rather than just leave the statue there and let people look at it.

Ultimately, he forced a deal, the legislature re-opened the state government, and the beach re-opened by the 4th. He didn't do that as a looter, he did it to prove a point, let the pictures float in the newspaper, and start the outrage by the people to force a budget compromise.

Always keep in mind, the ass-hats in the legislatures are loyal FIRST to the 'donors'. To the people and votes - a distant second. These are not rocket scientists, to be honest, I know quite a few of them, I can't recall a single one of them that seems like a 100 watt light-bulb in the 'brightness' category.

We see this at the national level with the anti-military-spending crowd, when truthfully, there is really only a couple of spending items that bring dollars back in government revenues - military spending and transportation (roads / airports / etc.) and certain types of infrastructure that increase future commerce. All-in, that stuff is about 6% of federal spending though. The social welfare stuff - around 78%+. If we really want to balance the federal budget, we can scrimp and save all we want out of that discretionary 6%, but even if we eliminate it, we still have deficits. Nothing will change until we take a very sharp pencil to entitlements.

No. I call B.S. The whole thing stinks. Close the beaches because there is a government shutdown, then use government staff to block out the public from a basic, natural resource, formation. Might as well say the mountains and lakes are all off limits too while the fatty waltzes around them with his family.

The purpose of government programs is to further and protect itself and its minions. Thats why the programs never seem to "work" in providing benefits to the citizens. They arent in the equation from the start

Christy's biggest problem is he does not play the PC game as good has others do. I do not hold that against him. I would most likely make snarky remarks back to the MSM and its paparazzi same as he does. Honestly, I like what he says and how he says it (even if he is wrong sometimes).

I don't. I've heard him make rude, sexist comments to women he didn't agree with. He comes across like a fat, bloated, hedonistic walrus. Nothing smooth about the guy. He looks and acts exactly like a hardcore lefty guy I once knew...which is probably why my hackles come up with him - haha. That comment, though, about how the governor gets to have a house on the beach, combined with using the state staff to keep people from the beach...just too much for me.
