I Do Not Like It

I went away this afternoon and came back to a different website. I don't want to see classified ads in the regular feed. As a matter of fact-I do not want to see classified ads by anyone who is not scored on this site, frankly. If someone pays for advertising-I'm for it, somewhere on the page as long as it doesn't destroy the integrity of the site mission. right now, it's just noisy and not Gulch like.

I think it's interesting the way site usage has exploded and the variety of people here now. Maybe they'll engage in other discussions too. I don't see how this can be a bad thing, at all.

I'm glad you expressed your opinion. Some of the classifieds generate lots of interest and comments. I really like the idea of trading and contracting with others of like mind.

OK I may have went a little overboard. I am still recovering from my Thanksgiving, sorry.

OK, but giving an opinion is not the same thing as imposing governance. I am not saying that I don't care for the feature, just asking to consider removing it from the Hot and New feeds.

Actually I am going to move to full disagreement with you. Simply posting an ad on the gulch does not mean the seller is of a producing mind. This website is not your new government. It is your responsibility to decide whether or not someone is worthy to do business with.

I do believe Hank and Dagny had that conversation while driving down a run down road.

I agree with Sdesapio, when it is less new, it won't be a prevalent nuisance.

I don't want to see them in either feed. I tend to look for new posts as well as hot ones for discussion. Also, I don't want to miss good posts because they're sandwiched between realtor ads and financial planner ads. Is there a way to separate it out from those two?

Yeah...it seems a bit over run. I pretty much stay on the "New" tab and it's riddled.

I'm thinking the noise should quite down a bit here shortly. Which "feed" are you referring to? Hot or New? Also, you know you can vote anything down an it will fall off of the Hot list right?

    Thanks K.

I'm thinking along the same line. If the classified ads didn't default along with the other catagories?
