Movie and television productions are leaving Los Angeles at an alarming rate. The city’s new mayor Eric Garcetti wants to combat the exodus by further bringing the plot of Atlas Shrugged to life ( http://variety.com/2013/biz/news/l-a-may... ). The start of his solution is to appoint a film czar. Will he choose John Galt?

Atlas Shrugged Producers John Aglialoro and Harmon Kaslow chose LA for their productions because of the local talent and resources. They came at a high cost. The production estimated that they incurred a 20% premium to stay in the motion picture capital. Much of these costs were due to regulations and unions.

Now Aglialoro and Kaslow are joining the exodus and looking elsewhere. Atlas Shrugged Part 3 is slated to begin production in Pennsylvania this fall.

In Atlas Shrugged the country’s producers go on strike amidst an economic crisis by leaving their jobs and disappearing. Their leader John Galt is captured after he delivers an inspirational speech to the populace. The government attempts to appoint him economic czar to solve the crisis. He refuses stating that the only solution is for government to get out of the way.
